Mom Cries After Opening Present To Find Outfit for Newborn Made from Late Grandmother's Shirt

Baby showers are meant to be a special day celebrating the new life that will soon be. Close friends and family gather together to make it a sweet day.

But sometimes those sweet moments can be tainted with the bitter twinge of missing loved ones who have passed away.

That was the case for Becka Boggan, as she and her close friends and family celebrated the upcoming arrival of her little girl, Parker.

As she began to open gifts, one particular gift caused memories to flood back, bringing emotional tears with them.

Becka was extremely close to her grandmother, Lois, who passed away in April 2017.

On the day of her death, Becka wrote, “You were the strongest woman I’ve ever met and I hope one day to be half the woman that you were. I tried my best to do as much as I possibly could for you to repay you for always being there for me but there wouldn’t have been enough time in all of eternity to show you how much I love and appreciate everything you’ve given me.”

“Nothing will ever be the same without you here and I know you’ll still ‘dance at my wedding’ one day and my children will know everything there is to know about their special, super woman strong guardian angel, Grandmama. There won’t be a day that goes by that I won’t think of you and miss you like crazy. I love you so much”

She even received an unexpected gift earlier in October 2018 that reminded her that “an angel” is watching over her.

One night while staying at her parents house, she walked into “Grandmama’s room” to get some lotion. It was a room that she and her mother had spent hours cleaning and organizing boxes in, so when she saw a small cardboard box that she didn’t recognize, she was confused.

Upon further inspection she saw the words, “1st Christmas,” written in her grandmother’s handwriting. Inside was a pink onesie ornament.

She wrote, “Yall… the tears ??” She just couldn’t get over that neither she nor her mother had ever seen that little box before.

“Even more strange, last weekend I went to Hobby Lobby and was passing by the Christmas ornaments and got so excited about getting to pick out Parker’s first Christmas ornament, but I decided to wait and look later because there was a lot of people looking…”

“I can’t even express my feelings about all this, but I know I have an angel with me all the time ❤️”

On the day of her baby shower, just two weeks later, she would receive yet another another sweet gift from her precious Grandmama. Even though the baby shower celebrating Parker’s arrival was over a year after her death, Becka felt the weight of her grandmother not being there.

Luckily she had some amazing people in her life that knew exactly how to make the pain a little less so.

When she opened the box, she saw a note that read, “Smell it before you wash me, then let Parker wear me to the park… Then frame it later when she outgrows so she will always remember I am not gone… With you always So proud of U – Grandmama’s shirt.”

She was so overwhelmed with emotion as she pulled out familiar paisley printed romper.

She wrote on Facebook, “Pardon the ugly cry, but this was the most special gift ever???”

Madison Victory, the talented woman behind making the sweet gift, said that she was “so excited” to play a role in such a meaningful gift.

I’m sure little Parker will wear her Grandmomma’s repurposed shirt with pride and will hear plenty of stories of the amazing woman who wore it before her.
