Joanna Gaines Shares Letter to Fans as 'Fixer Upper' Final Episode Airs
It’s been four years since Joanna Gaines opened our eyes to wonders of shiplap, and ever since the first episode aired, we have fallen more and more in love with the Gaines family.
And it’s no wonder given Joanna’s amazing design taste and Chip’s quirky personality … Do you remember that time he ate a roach?
They have been unashamed to share their family, faith and creativity with us since 2013.
So when Chip and Joanna announced in September that the upcoming season would be their last, fans’ hearts broke.
“How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place,” Joanna wrote in the announcement.
With the news of one chapter ending, the Gaines have promised that they aren’t done.
Between the famous Magnolia Silos and renovation company, the power couple had more than enough on their plate to keep themselves busy. But they still have new projects for us to look forward to.
Joanna published a letter on April 3, the night the final episode of “Fixer Upper” aired, thanking fans for their support over the years and updating them on upcoming projects.
She wrote, “This season of life has been rewarding, challenging, unbelievably fast and furious and nearly everything in between.”
Chip and Joanna ultimately decided to step away from “Fixer Upper” because they wanted to spend more time with their growing kiddos.
Their two sons and two daughters have always been great helpers to their parents on the show and they wanted to take some time to spend intentionally with them.
What they didn’t expect was that baby number 5 would soon be on his way! “We now realize with this little one on the way that there was a bigger plan in place for us all along,” wrote Joanna. “I truly believe this baby is a gift from God for our family in this season.”
With a cook book releasing later this month, a design book in the works, and the recently opened Magnolia Table to oversee, the Gaines family continues to share pieces of their lives with us.
Joanna promised, “We’re not saying goodbye!”
“Today is really bittersweet for us. Fixer Upper is the thing that introduced our family to yours, and every Tuesday night for the past five years, we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. We’ve said it many times, but it’s worth saying again — thank you to everyone who has walked beside us on this journey,” she wrote. “We’re so excited for all that’s still to come!”
