Frank Parker, known best for his role as Shawn Brady in “Days of Our Lives,” has passed away. He was 79 years old.

He passed away in Vacaville, California, on Sept. 16, 2018. He died from complications of Parkinson’s disease and dementia, according to Legacy.com.

His obituary read, “Frank was a people person; he touched many lives and was loved by everyone. He could light up a room with his singing voice and was known to burst into song at any moment. He was a ham and loved the spotlight. Above all, he was the most supportive, generous, kind man and father.”

Then in 1983, he began his role as Shawn Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” a role he played for 25 years. He retired in 2008.

While his most notable role was on “Days of Our Lives,” he also appeared on other soap operas like “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless.”

Following his death, the show’s official account as well as some of his co-stars have paid their tribute to the beloved man and spoke of his vibrant personality.
