Boy's Heartbreaking Plea for a Family To Adopt Him Goes Viral: 'I'll Do Anything for Them'
An Oklahoma boy named Jerimiah has a message for his future family: “I’ll do anything for them.”
Jerimiah has been in the Department of Human Services’ custody for three years now, but he desperately wants to find his future family before it’s too late.
He spends his time playing video games and swimming at the local YMCA.
He also loves reading his books, specifically adventure stories. Right now, he is reading through a children’s books series called “Underworld” that follows a boy who fights monsters and is looking for a lost friend.
While Jerimiah enjoys his pastimes, he’s admitted that he’s had a tough time in his current living situation.
“I want to be adopted because I get beat up in my group home,” he told KFOR News. His adoption worker said that they are in the process of helping him with that situation.
When asked what his perfect family would look like, he answered with simple dreams.
“There would be a nice woman. There would be a nice husband. There would be nice kids. There would be pets,” the 10-year-old said.
He sweetly said he would “do anything” for his future family.
Jerimiah does speak with a sense of urgency because he knows that his 18th birthday is not far away.
“By the time I’m 18, I might not be adopted by then and I don’t want that to happen to me,” he said. “And I don’t want to be in a group home until I’m 18.”
Jerimiah’s story is unfortunately similar to thousands of other children’s.
