Bindi Irwin Shares Video of Late-Father Steve, Fighting Tears Talking about His Kids
Steve Irwin was one of the most famous and beloved figures in wildlife conservation.
His shows and videos were inspiring, breathtaking, and terrifying all at the same time.
Over ten years after Irwin’s death, his children are continuing his legacy. They post videos to keep the public aware and refuse to let their father’s efforts go to waste.
Irwin’s 19-year-old daughter, Bindi, recently came across an interview with her father, which she shared on social media.
The sentiment of the video gave a perfect explanation as to why Steve Irwin’s children are continuing his work.
In the video, Irwin appears to repeat the interviewer’s question, asking, “Is there anything in this world that would want to make me give away what I’m doing now? Yes, there is,” he answered.
“When my children can take the football that I call wildlife conservation and run it up,” he explained. “When they’re ready to run up our mission, I will gladly step aside.
“And I guarantee you it will be the proudest moment of my life,” he added.
The clearly emotional Irwin went on to say that his mission would be complete once he sees his family take over his cause.
Irwin may have never been able to see his children follow in his footsteps, but he’s doubtlessly watching from above.
Bindi wrote a heart-wrenching caption on Instagram to go along with the inspiring video.
“My first time watching this footage was only a few days ago,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to describe the amount of emotion in my heart once the video ended. My dad. My superhero.
“I promise to do my best to make you proud and ensure your legacy lives on forever. A new chapter in our lives has begun as we embark on this journey with @animalplanet.
“There is so much on the horizon. We can’t wait to share our story as a family,” she finished.
Bindi and the rest of the Irwin family will be taking their father’s wildlife conservation mission back to where his “Crocodile Hunter” show originated: Animal Planet.
We’re excited to see how the family continues Steve Irwin’s mission.
