Woman Finds Note from Neighbor Attached to Her Pet Cat's Collar
Cats are curious creatures by nature. They love to frolic and play and sometimes even meet some new friends.
Such is the case for Rex Manning, an adorable fluffy cat that loves people.
Rex’s owner, Emily Crane, knew he was the friend-making type after rescuing him as kitten eight years ago, according to The Dodo.
Rex loves affection, cozying up to plenty of strangers whenever he gets the chance.
“He loves attention, especially when it comes with nice, behind the ear scratches,” Crane told The Dodo.
When Rex was old enough, his curiosity increased, and Crane would let him go outside to explore.
“At a rather young age, he started begging to go outside,” she said. “I would let him out the back door and watch from my upstairs kitchen window.”
Rex got braver and braver and soon was having his own adventures in the neighborhood.
“I think a lot of people around here are excited to see a friendly kitty,” Crane told The Dodo.
His adventures took him to plenty of places, including to one of Crane’s neighbors that lived in a red house.
The neighbors had a good sense of humor about their furry little visitor and sent Crane a note to let her know the cat had been coming to see them.
With the note securely tucked under his collar, Rex wandered on home.
“He pranced inside with it, like he knew that he had a delivery to make,” Crane said.
Finally, Rex’s secret was out, and Crane soon found out what he was up to all this time.
The note from Crane’s neighbor read, “Hello! This is your neighbor in the red house! We just wanted to let you know that Rex has developed a weird love for our bathtub + will sneak into our home to sit in it!
“All of us in the house are 100% okay with this because we all love Rex very much. We just want to let you know in case you were wondering where he was one of these days … he’s probably in our bathtub. <3 The Red House.”
Crane had a good laugh about the situation, understanding the Rex was in need of some extra love and attention.
“I seriously could not stop laughing when I found the note,” she told The Dodo “It was adorable.”
While Crane has not met the neighbors in the red house just yet, she did send a note back courtesy of Rex thanking them for taking care of him.
“He is definitely a character!” Crane said.
“I love how friendly Rex is with people,” she added. “If they are interested, I can tell it makes their day to give a pet to a handsome, social kitty cat.”
