47 Years After Being Adopted, He Takes 1 Look at Photo and Knows It's His Birth Mother
Being adopted is a gift, but sometimes a child still longs to find their birth mother.
After many years of searching, Christian Guerrero would soon be reunited with his, according to KFVS.
Forty-seven years ago was the last time that Guerrero saw his mother, when he was born in Austin, Texas, on June 1, 1972.
Guerrero would use the power of Facebook, a genealogist and a DNA test to find his mother and create that emotional reunion that would bring the two together again.
“I’ve been looking for her really hard since Christmas of last year,” he told KFVS.
He had received the DNA test as a Christmas gift and used it to locate the mother he hadn’t seen in so many years.
Guerrero also joined a Facebook group for people that were in the same type of situation that he was in, which also helped lead him to his mother.
Through Guerrero’s investigative efforts, he came across a picture of his mother and instantly knew it was her.
“There’s a connection, a bond with your mother,” he told KFVS.
“I can’t really explain it. I’ve never had it.
“Once I found it, I saw her picture. I knew it was her. That hole that I had, it started to fill up, and I can’t wait to meet her,” Guerrero added.
After his long search, Guerrero was finally able to speak to his mother on the phone and make the reunion between the two happen.
On Jan. 24, Guerrero finally saw his mother after 47 years.
“The last time I saw him was when I held him in my arms as a baby and I was just a young, 14-year-old teenager and it was very difficult to let him go,” his mom told KFVS.
The persistence of Guerrero certainly paid off. We hope the reunion was one that will strengthen the bond between mother and son and make up for lost time.
