Plans Set for Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth II's Road Trip, Just 10 Days Away
Meghan Markle is now officially a member of the royal family. She’s had to learn a lot in a short time, but has seemed to fit in seamlessly with all the customs and activities.
She was even the first engaged person to be invited to the queen’s Christmas festivities — before her, only married partners had been invited to attend.
Meghan and Harry chose St. George’s Chapel for their ceremony, which is where the queen celebrated her 60th and 80th birthdays.
The queen even gifted the newlyweds with a present to rival all presents: a little place called York Cottage.
The couple will reportedly stay at Kensington Palace but use York Cottage as a getaway location.
At the moment, most speculate that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still out enjoying their honeymoon, but as soon as that’s over there will be plenty of things for the newest royal to do.
One of those things will be the very first solo trip Meghan takes with the queen on June 14.
In what they call an “away day,” Queen Elizabeth will be taking the newest member of her family to Chester.
Chester is about 165 miles from London, so the two will have some time to chat. Many people would probably kill to be a fly on the wall during that trip.
Once in Chester, the pair will be doing typical royal things.
First, they are going to Widnes, where they will be unveiling a bridge that has just been completed.
Next, the two will be opening up a new theater called The Storyhouse.
Last — but not least — they will end their morning activities with a midday meal at the town hall.
It’s not easy being royal, but no doubt the queen will help Meghan learn the ropes. She’s done well so far, and many are expecting great things from her in the near future!
