Hours After Giving Birth, Kate Paid Incredible Tribute to Princess Diana That Most Missed
Well, it has happened! A new royal child has been officially welcomed into the world.
On Monday, April 23, Duchess Catherine was admitted to the hospital in the beginning stages of labor. She made it in at around 8:30 a.m. and soon the joyous announcement followed.
In keeping with royal tradition, the first sign that the baby was born was a literal one: a sign placed at the front of the Buckingham Palace proclaimed that the third child had made his arrival.

The child is a boy, and although no name has been suggested as of yet, there are many guesses that it will be a strong, English, family name. Some have suggested Alexander or Philip.
Obviously Prince William and Duchess Kate are in the know, but the proud father isn’t telling. “You’ll find out soon enough,” was all he would give away.

As is customary, the family left the hospital shortly after the birth of the newest child.
Prince William left Kate’s side at around 4 in the afternoon to fetch George and Charlotte, who — as usual — were cute as buttons. They got to the hospital at 5 p.m. and then the mother and child made their first real appearance.
While most mothers take time to relax after giving birth, these moms have to put on their best face and greet the public as they leave the safety of the hospital for the sanctuary of their own homes.
Duchess Kate, with her penchant for fashion and careful integration of Diana-esque styles, has wowed crowds yet again in her ensemble.
For previous trips from the hospital she’s worn blue and yellow, but this time she stepped out in a vibrant red dress with a lacy collar, her newborn swaddled in a similarly lacy blanket.
And of course, the look was completed with heels, because the poised mom never makes an appearance without them.
But this outfit bears a striking resemblance to another mother from years ago who also made a primped appearance with her new son shortly after giving birth to him.
That’s right, Princess Diana. Who else? She wore a dress in a similar shade of red, also sporting a white collar and a bundle of joy wrapped in a soft, white blanket.

Was the nod intentional? It’s hard to read it as anything else, with Middleton continuing Diana’s legacy in so many other ways.
Mothers in such visible positions are probably under an intense amount of pressure to look perfectly coiffed and composed at every turn, but Duchess Catherine is certainly doing a fantastic job of it.
We hope that mother and child get a good, long, well-deserved rest after this latest accomplishment. Welcome to the world, little one!
