Kind-Hearted Stranger Blesses Man at Bank with Gift for Son Graduating High School
When it comes to kindness, there should be no limit. No matter our race, we are all a part of the human race.
Love is a language that’s universal. It’s something that can never be bought or sold, but when shared, it makes all the difference in the world.
A post on Facebook reminds us that it’s not the amount of a gift, but rather the heart behind it. Rob Edwards of Tampa, Florida, discovered this recently.
Every parent knows the years fly by faster than we expect. It was only four years ago that Rob and his son, Cole, enjoyed a father-son fishing day together.
Now Cole is graduating from high school, a milestone his father is proud to share. Rob’s pride hasn’t gone unnoticed either.
While preparing to celebrate Cole’s graduation, Rob headed to the bank. But what he thought would be a routine errand, turned out to be much more indeed.
“I do not know this woman,” his Facebook post begins in all caps. “But My heart was touched by her.”
Rob then shares of his experience that day. How he’d told a stranger his son was graduating, and how her response went above and beyond anything he expected.
“…she waited for me to go in front of her,” he writes. Instead he told her to go ahead, saying, “Today my son graduates. I’m slowing down and want to savor every minute.”
His desire to enjoy the day clearly moved the woman. She gifted him $50 for Cole.
Though touched a stranger would show such random kindness, Rob quickly ran after the woman. He simply could not accept the gift.
But she kindly refused to take the money back. Instead she told him, “When you talk about your boy, you glow. [You’re] a blessing to him, I want to bless him too!”
Wow. What a way to add to the joy of his son’s graduation day.
We need more people like this kind bank customer in the world. Rob shares how much it blessed him, and I am sure his son felt blessed by the woman’s kindness as well.
Congratulations, Cole Edwards. Your father’s pride and love for you reaped an unexpected reward he will never forget.
