Keanu Reeves Stops to Autograph Sign in Woman's Yard That Says 'You're Breathtaking'

A lot of spectacular surprise events in life hinge on being in the right place at the right time.

There’s little you can do to see those kinds of opportunities coming, and that’s part of what makes brushes with celebrities or last-minute rescues so incredible.

For one family, it was a little less spontaneous. Their house happened to be in the right place, and they found out just in time that a certain famous actor might soon be passing by.

It all started at E3, a massive video game conference held in June, when Keanu Reeves was describing an upcoming release he was to be a part of, calling it “breathtaking” during the on-stage announcement.

In the brief pause following the completion of his sentence, a crowd member yelled, “You’re breathtaking!” to Reeves, who in turn yelled, “You’re breathtaking! You’re all breathtaking!”

The moment went viral, creating its own flurry of memes as it circulated.

And the Hunt family, clearly big fans, seem to have seen the clip, because not only were they clued-in to the actor’s words but they happened to know he’d be filming down the street from them as well.

It was 16-year-old Ethan who proposed that the family make a poster and place it outside their Slidell, Louisiana home for the famed actor in the event that he drove by while filming in the area, according to CNN.

So, what else would they write on their yard sign than “You’re Breathtaking”? A sure way to catch Reeves’ attention.

The Hunts were in luck. Not only did Reeves pass by their house — he also took the bait.

When mom Stacey Hunt saw him, she just had to ask for an autograph on the sign, a request he happily fulfilled.

In true form, he wrote “Stacey, you’re breathtaking!”

“Yes, I did scream!” she tweeted. “I admit it. I went total fan girl.”

“It’s not everyday that keanu reeves walks into your front yard!! A moment i will never forget.”

“It’s been very surreal for sure,” her husband wrote. “Keanu could have done the easy thing and passed the sign up, but he stopped and brought a lot of joy to my wife and kids. For that I am very thankful.”

Ed Solomon, the “Bill and Ted” screenwriter who was with Reeves that day, later said that the mass reaction to the sign shocked him. It shouldn’t be a surprise when celebrities stop in to do kind things for their fans.

“This thing, strangely, has gotten a lot of press,” Solomon tweeted. “Not sure why.”

“Its a good guy doing a kind thing. But I can’t help but think that maybe it shouldn’t be so odd.”

What a wonderful world it would be if people taking a moment to do kind things for one another became the norm, instead of occasions like this being rare enough to make the news.
