Judge Jeanine Lays Down the Ultimate Challenge to Jeff Sessions

Share

Earlier in the summer, there were reports that Fox News personality Judge Jeanine Pirro wanted Jeff Sessions’ job. That’s unlikely to happen, but one thing’s for sure: she probably wants him gone.

In her “Opening Statement” of Saturday’s night’s “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” Pirro said that the nation’s top law enforcement official either ought to resign or put on his “big boy pants and be a real attorney general.”

Pirro also said that Sessions was part of the “deep state” problem.

The rant touched on a number of issues, but notably special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe — a constant thorn in the side of the White House that likely would never have happened had the attorney general not recused himself over contacts he’d had with the Russian ambassador to the United States before his confirmation as attorney general.

President Donald Trump has made it clear that he wants Sessions to stop the Mueller fishing expedition.

“This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further,” Trump tweeted in early August. “Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!”

Yet, Sessions is still around — something that Pirro said wasn’t a good look.

Check out it out here.

“What don’t you get?” Pirro said, addressing Sessions at the beginning of her statement. “Have you no self-esteem, self-regard, self-respect? Where is your dignity?

“Why would you stay in a job where you are not wanted — a job you took under false pretenses, knowing you wouldn’t be able to do the complete job? And why do you continue to stay?”

She also implied Sessions was part of the deep state apparatus, which she said is aimed at the Trump administration.

Do you think Jeff Sessions should resign?

“No one elected you, Jeff, petitioned to make sure you got the job,” she said.

“You’re certainly not entitled to the job. You groveled and begged for the job and out of loyalty he gave it to you. You are so clueless. You don’t even know you are being used. You don’t even know you are nothing but a shill.

“In fact, the only constituency that wants you is the deep state that needs someone to protect their flank from investigation.”

“You need to do one of two things,” she concluded. “You need to resign immediately, because you’re not wanted, or put on your big boy pants and be a real attorney general.”

Well, that’s certainly one way to put it.

At least two powerful Republican senators — Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Chuck Grassley of Iowa — have predicted that Sessions will depart soon. It’s not just Pirro, in other words.

Granted, they didn’t talk about “big boy pants,” but the message is clear: Either get the attorney general on the same page as the administration, or get someone who will be.
