Joanna & Chip Gaines Reveal Plans for Return to Television: 'Exciting Week Here at Magnolia!'
There are few couples who have done as much as Chip and Joanna Gaines have. The home renovation duo have boys and girls, plants and animals, and have been featured in print and video.
They’ve opened stores and a restaurant, and had a very successful career with “Fixer Upper,” closing down the show before avid viewers were really ready to say goodbye.
While they’ve changed their focus many times, they’ve never really slowed down. If they’re not filming a show, they’re getting a book ready for publishing.
The most recent publishing feat is “We Are the Gardeners,” which came out March 26 and is an adorable storybook portraying the learning curves the family encountered as they started their horticultural journey.
In 2018, they opened up Magnolia Table, breathing new life into an old cafe, nodding to its history while revitalizing it and putting their own trademark spin on the decor and menu offerings.
Even after 737 reviews on Yelp, the breezy diner maintains a respectable 4.0 rating, with customers raving about the avocado toast, strawberry butter and lemon lavender donut holes.
Despite all the spotlight and success, though, this grounded couple appears as even-keeled as ever.
And they’re not even close to being done yet.
After Chip “accidentally” spilled the beans, Joanna alluded to this when she posted a photo and some exciting news to Instagram on April 11.
“Exciting week here at Magnolia!” she wrote. “I wanted to take a minute and share about the launch of our network with @discoveryinctv coming summer 2020.”
“Whether it’s design and renovation, cooking, gardening, wellness, community, entrepreneurialism or relationships — our hope is when you come to our network it feels like home”
“We cannot wait to show you all the things we’ve been dreaming up! It’s gonna be good ♥️”
So, if you’re one of the many people who loved shows like “Fixer Upper” and “Behind the Design,” follow the Gaines clan religiously, and maybe even made the pilgrimage to one of their brick-and-mortars, this is wonderful news.
The network is a collaboration between Magnolia, the Gaines’ brand, and HGTV, of Discovery Inc. TV. According to Magnolia’s spokesperson John Marsicano, the couple will continue creating and delivering wholesome, down-home content.
“Our goal for this multi-platform media company is to deliver a unique, inspiring and family-friendly content experience rooted in honesty and authenticity — the kind of programming that helps bring people together,” he told PEOPLE.
“Our hope with this network is that it really feels like home,” Joanna said during Discovery Upfronts on April 10. “I think when people come, they’ll find what they were looking for.”
“Whether its design, gardening, cooking — that it resonates with people. We hope that people come, sit and they stay a while.”
If this latest endeavor is anything like their past ones, 2020 is going to be a great year for the Gaineses and their viewers.
