Jessa Duggar Seewald Shares Precious Photos of Baby Girl as Family Welcomes New Daughter, Ivy

On Sunday, May 26, the Seewald family said hello to its newest addition.

Ivy Jane Seewald was born two weeks earlier than her June 5 due date. Her parents, Jessa Duggar Seewald and her husband Ben, were surprised by the timing.

“We were getting ready for church when my water broke, and we were thinking ‘Well, I guess we have a change of plans!'” The Seewalds wrote on their website.

Ivy was 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20.5 inches upon her birth at the Seewald’s home in Arkansas. Compared to her two older brothers, Spurgeon, 3, and Henry, 2, her parents said she seemed especially small.

“She feels so tiny compared to her siblings! Spurgeon was born at nearly 10lbs, and Henry close to 9lbs,” the couple wrote.

Jessa introduced Ivy to her followers in a sweet post on Instagram. The photo features Ivy donned in a pink outfit and a grey bow.

With two sons already, the Seewald family was anticipating another boy.

“We are overjoyed that God has blessed us with a baby, due late this Spring!” Jessa told People earlier this year. “From the day we found out we were expecting, we both guessed boy, and if our predictions are right then we already have a ton the clothing and accessories ready to pass down!”

However, the Seewalds also expressed that they would be overjoyed to have a daughter.

“At the same time, we would absolutely love it if we found out we were having a girl — though we’ve joked that we’d be starting from square one and might have to learn a few things,” Jessa said.

Spurgeon and Henry are excited to welcome a baby sister into their lives. According to the Seewalds, the two boys already “adore” Ivy.

‘We’re so grateful to God for this precious gift,” the family wrote on their website. “She is already so loved. Her big brothers adore her!’

Earlier this year, the family predicted that the boys would quickly bond with their sibling, regardless of the baby’s gender.

“Henry doesn’t have a clue what’s coming, but Spurgeon understands and he talks about the baby quite a bit,” Ben said. “Seeing our boys meet their new sibling for the first time is something we are really looking forward to!”

Although raising a girl is new territory for the family, they appear to be up for the challenge.

“We are over the moon,” Jessa wrote in an Instagram post. Congratulations, Seewald family!
