Internet trolls flood the web with photos of Carson Wentz to celebrate royal wedding

Share

Carson Wentz leading the Philadelphia Eagles in their Super Bowl season certainly had a fairy tale feeling to it.

That the rugged North Dakotan was injured before the playoffs was certainly a bummer, but still, Philly won its first football championship since 1960.

The only way things could get better for Wentz — besides staying upright — would be to marry a princess.

Wentz did get engaged right after the Super Bowl to longtime girlfriend Maddie Oberg, and it will surely be a storybook wedding for the young couple.

Just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

While much of the world was glued to the royal wedding Saturday, Twitter was alive with comparisons between Prince Harry (now the Duke of Sussex) and Prince Carson, aka the King of Philly.

There’s definitely a strong resemblance, from the red hair to the beard.

In fact, the only difference may be that Wentz has a little more hair in the back.

Philadelphia is so Eagles-centric, fans probably thought Saturday was a de facto update on Wentz’s rehab.

Carson, of course, was on the sidelines for Super Bowl LII watching his backup, Nick Foles, lead the Eagles to an upset victory over the New England Patriots.

New England players, like linebacker Marquis Flowers, must have done a double-take Saturday.

This is a good point by one fan:

Two look-a-likes, two big rings — yes, it’s been a great year for people who look like Carson Wentz.
