Fans Grossed Out By Food Blogger's Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Made with Hard Boiled Eggs

I’m not at all opposed to trying new things, and, let’s be real, there are plenty to try these days. From unicorn toilet paper (yes, that’s a trend) to mushroom coffee (no, I’m not kidding), I think it’s safe to say there’s a smorgasbord of pickings for those of us who want to add a little flair to our everyday lives.

But there’s a line I will not cross. For example, I will not eat bugs no matter how much you pay me, and in my humble opinion, there are some ingredients that just don’t go together.

Enter Hard Boiled Egg Chocolate Chip Cookies. No, that’s not a typo.

Food vlogger Shelly Jaronsky promises these treats will be treats indeed. “These Hard Boiled Egg Chocolate Chip Cookies are SO delicious!” she claims on her site, Cookies and Cups.

They taste just like a regular Chocolate Chip Cookie, but with a thick, soft texture,” she continues. “I LOVED these!”

But will her followers love them? You be the judge.

After watching the video I have to admit, they don’t look that bad. Dare I say delicious, even?

And it’s not like normal cookie recipes don’t already contain eggs, right? These eggs just happen to be of a more solid variety.

But with 2.5 million likes on Facebook, Jaronsky has a reputation to uphold. Could it be this recipe is just that good?

Some fans aren’t quite so certain. “That’s chocolate chip egg salad,” one person posted.

This comment is of the lighter variety, unfortunately. Many viewers shared their honest opinions, some even resorting to cruel words and vulgar language.

But for all the hate posted on this recipe, many have come to Jaronsky’s defense. “So much hate here, but normal cookies have eggs that are cooked when you bake them in the oven,” commenter Megan Roy wrote.

My thoughts, exactly. I’ll have to quote my mother on this one — “Don’t trash it ’til you try it.”

Would you bake these cookies? With Easter coming, maybe there’s a use for those leftover eggs after all.
