Ex-NBA champion 'Big Baby' facing jail time after felony assault charge
The downward spiral of “Big Baby” continues.
Ten years ago this week, Glen “Big Baby” Davis was a key reserve — a precocious rookie playing for the Boston Celtics’ championship team.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported that the 32-year-old has been charged with felony assault stemming from an altercation in April.
Police said Davis was driving his car erratically near a night club in West Hollywood.
He reportedly almost struck a pedstrian who then tried to confront the former NBA player.
Witnesses said Davis threw the man to the ground and pummeled him.
The alleged victim suffered facial fractures, broken ribs and a broken tooth, according to authorities, TMZ reported.
If Davis is convicted of assault, he could face seven years in jail.
It’s just the latest development in the sad tale of a highly entertaining player who was a fan favorite on two Celtics teams that played in the NBA Finals.
In March, Davis was arrested for marijuana possession, but based on his social media post, he wasn’t too concerned.

Davis left Boston after the 2010-2011 season, signing a four-year/$25.7 million deal with Orlando.
Davis’ career ended following the 2014-2015 season, which he had played for the Clippers and former Celtics coach Doc Rivers.
The best season of Davis’ NBA career arguably came in his last season in Boston, when he averaged almost 12 points and just over five rebounds a game.
He was seemingly generously listed at 6’9″, weighing 289 pounds during his career.
