Every American Should See What White Dems Want To Do to These Black Children
Democrats may be the harshest critics of school choice, but recent polling data shows that a majority of black and Hispanic Democrats support charter schools.
According to 2018 polling data provided to Chalkbeat from Education Next, a journal that deals with education reform, just 27 percent of white Democrats support charter schools, compared to 50 percent who oppose them.
These numbers represent a big change from 2016, when 43 percent of white Democrats supported charter schools and 37 percent did not.
This trend is reflected in the presidential campaigns of several 2020 Democrats, including Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.
Sanders, for his part, wants to ban for-profit charter schools and halt public funding for new charter schools “until a national audit has been completed to determine the impact of charter growth in each state,” according to his campaign website.
Sanders also wants to implement a slew of new regulations for charter schools.
For example, the self-described democratic socialist senator would mandate that charter schools support “the efforts of charter school teachers to unionize.”
Sanders’ plan is an obvious attempt to undermine school choice and push more children back into horrendous public schools.
“We do not need two schools systems; we need to invest in our public schools system,” his plan claims.
Speaking with reporters in New Hampshire on Saturday, Warren echoed Sanders’ stance.
“Yeah, I think it’s a real problem right now,” Warren said of for-profit charter schools, according to the Washington Examiner. “And what Betsy DeVos has done to our public education really undermines the best opportunities for our kids.”
“I think public tax dollars should stay in our public schools,” Warren said.

But black and Hispanic Democrats appear to want school choice so their children can escape badly performing public schools.
“In the 2018 data, 47 percent of black Democrats supported charters with 29 percent opposed; similarly, 47 percent of Hispanic Democrats backed charters while 35 percent opposed them,” Chalkbeat noted, citing Education Next data.
Another poll from Democrats for Education Reform, the results of which were published this month, showed that 58 percent of black Democrat voters and 52 percent of Hispanic Democrat voters view charter schools favorably, compared to 31 percent and 30 percent who view them unfavorably, respectively.
Just 26 percent of white Democrats in that poll said they viewed charter schools favorably.
Let’s face the facts: Public schools aren’t always the best option, particularly in low-income areas.
But many elitist, white Democrats are satisfied with their posh, suburban public schools, so they’re perfectly fine with pushing public schools on everybody else.
It’s bad enough that Democrats support job-killing policies on socialism and immigration that would harm black Americans in particular. If a Democrat is elected in 2020, he or she would almost certainly devastate black and Hispanic communities with their awful policies.
