Dolly Parton Releases Secret Recipe to Holiday Favorite 'Walnut Pie'

Share

I think it’s safe to say that Dolly Parton is a country music legend. Even so, she’s a whole lot more than her catchy tunes.

She’s also an actress, a producer, an author and the heart behind Dollywood. She’s done everything and she’s “been everywhere, man.” Yes, she has even performed with Johnny Cash.

Life in the spotlight hasn’t seemed to change Parton a bit, though. She’s just as kind, and sweet and down to earth as ever.

Currently, she’s gearing up for the release of her new movie “Dumplin’.” According to Country Living, the film will start streaming on Netflix on Dec. 7. IMDB notes it will also be featured in select U.S. theaters.

The film will feature six original songs by Parton. “I loved performing ‘Girl In The Movies’ live with Linda Perry and can’t wait for y’all to hear the whole soundtrack,” Parton wrote on Twitter.

Parton also said that she got to work with some other talented folks on this project. “We got to work with some amazing people like Miranda Lambert, Sia, Alison Krauss… and that’s just naming a few!” she said on Facebook.

Will you make Parton's Walnut Pie this holiday season?

It almost seems too perfect that the film will release just in time for the holidays. And boy, does Dolly Parton know how to do the holidays right.

Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned Christmas song performed by the queen of country herself? Her rendition of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” is a classic.

If you’ll be home for the holidays this year, or even if you’re traveling, you won’t want to forget this recipe for Dolly’s special Walnut Pie.

In 2017, the singer/songwriter shared the recipe on Facebook. I haven’t tried it yet, but anything from Dolly is good, am I right?

“If y’all are looking for a special dessert for your table, here’s one that’s always on my table at Thanksgiving and Christmas!” she wrote.

Sounds like the most perfect dessert to accompany a December “Dumplin'” viewing party, if I do say so myself.
