Denver Broncos reach out to former All-Pro Ware for coaching position
The Denver Broncos selected a man they hope will be their next great linebacker when they took N.C. State’s Bradley Chubb with the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
To help Chubb achieve the greatness they expect, the team is considering hiring former Broncos great DeMarcus Ware to coach him.
Mike Klis from KUSA-TV in Denver reports that the team is looking to bring back Ware to coach Chubb and the other linebackers on a part-time basis.

Ware played 12 seasons in the NFL, including the last three with the Broncos, before he retired in 2016.
In those final years in Denver, the highly respected Ware served as a player-coach of sorts, mentoring All-Pro linebacker Von Miller, among others, KUSA reported.
Ware had 138.5 career sacks, which ranks eighth on the all-time list.

His best years were with the Cowboys, where he played from 2005 to 2013. Ware twice led the league in sacks, in 2008 when he had 20 and in 2010 when he had 15.5. He also had 19.5 sacks in 2011.
With the Broncos, Ware had 21 sacks and was part of the Super Bowl-winning team of 2015, which was considered one of the best defensive units in recent years.
Ware is very high on Chubb, as he explained in a recent interview with Mile High Sports.

“Chubb is going to be a great asset to Von [Miller] out there, with Shane [Ray], Shaq [Barrett.] He’s that next up-and-coming thing for the Broncos,” Ware told Mile High Sports.
With Chubb joining Miller and the rest of the Broncos’ already stout defense, Ware thinks it could be dominant.
“I think they can because they have all the personnel there,” Ware said. “They have all the personnel they need. … They’re going to be able to run the football. They got a good running back core, they’re going to get to running the football like they used to, protecting the football and getting after it on defense.”
And Ware might be there to help shape it.
