Democrat Moneyman Donates 535 Books to Congress in Attempt to Sway Their Votes

Share

California billionaire investor Tom Steyer, a progressive environmentalist and Democrat Party financier, hasn’t been shy about how much he hates President Donald Trump.

In fact, Steyer has invested millions of his own dollars into an ad campaign designed to drum up support among the public and Congress to impeach Trump and remove him from office.

According to KQED, it would appear that the Democrat moneyman’s latest gambit in his bid to impeach Trump is to have copies of the new anti-Trump book by author Michael Wolff, “Fire and Fury,” hand-delivered to every single member of Congress, 535 copies in all.

Steyer admitted that he hadn’t yet actually read the book, and had based his decision to help spread it far and wide among Congress solely upon the excerpts he had seen.

“We believed when we started this impeachment petition on Oct. 20, we felt every subsequent day would bring information that would bolster our argument that this was a dangerous, unfit president who needed to be removed from office,” Steyer said.

“And from what I can tell, this book makes that case in very bold letters,” he added.

Of course, as much as Trump’s haters and critics have latched onto the book as some sort of confirmation of their worst suspicions about the president, the book has been widely derided by people on both sides of the political divide who have called its accuracy into question.

Earlier in the interview, Steyer spoke about his petition to impeach Trump, and stated, “We’re not convincing anyone to do this. We’re enabling them to put together a collective national voice to speak up to national officials.”

He also hinted that he could soon announce his own foray into elected politics in the state of California, potentially making a run for the governorship or the Senate seat currently occupied by Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, though he declined to be specific.

“I want to be part of the group of people who push America back onto a just and prosperous path,” he stated.

According to BizPac Review, Steyer may think he is ginning up support for his impeachment push by handing out copies of a book that makes numerous outrageous and provably false statements, but he likely won’t garner the support of Democrat leaders like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who has tried to tamp down talk of impeachment.

There is no word on how much those 535 copies of Wolff’s book cost him, but considering he has already sunk $20 million of his own money into the impeachment campaign, on top of an estimated $86 million spent on the entire 2016 elections and $73 million spent on the 2014 elections, cost doesn’t appear to be a concern for him.

It will be interesting to see what sort of reaction Steyer’s gift to every member of Congress receives, as in, how many members take the book seriously and how many use it as a paperweight or doorstop.

Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter so everyone can see what billionaire leftist donor Tom Steyer is doing with the new anti-Trump book by Michael Wolff.
