Dana Loesch Has Had Enough, Calls Out Establishment Media For Creating Mass Shooters

Share

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch isn’t known to mix words or play nice with gun-grabbers. So, when the media started blaming the Second Amendment for the tragic shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, Loesch wasn’t going to sit quietly by.

In a video posted Friday to NRA TV, Loesch instead turned the blame on the media, who she says has helped create mass shooters by giving them attention.

“(The media) has got to stop creating more of these monsters by over-saturation,” Loesch said, according to The Daily Caller.

“I was reading about these studies — these numerous studies — and in fact, they went back and they noticed that all of these school shooters had one — well, had several commonalities, but one in particular stood out,” Loesch said.

“Every single one of them was motivated, and every single one of them had at some point either in writings that were discovered at their home in social media or something — they had in some way referenced Columbine. Which was a motivating factor.

“The media has got to stop creating more of these monsters by over-saturation,” she said.

Loesch said there’s a difference between reporting on a story and obsessing with a story over a 24-hour news cycle.

“I’m not saying don’t responsibly report on things as they happen. I understand it,” Loesch said. “But constantly showing the image of the murderer, constantly saying their name, is completely unnecessary.”

Do you agree with Dana Loesch's comments?

She said by identifying the name of the shooter and detailing their background, “we have to be very cognizant of what this creates.”

Loesch’s remarks echo those made by parents of those affected by the Parkland shooting, who beseeched the media to not use the name of the shooter.

And did they listen? Of course not. Unless its in excerpted files or videos where it can’t be avoided, we’ve tried our hardest to keep this sicko’s name out of the limelight. The rest of the media has done exactly the opposite.

As I’ve said before, Columbine and the media’s fixation on it has created a generation of Travis Bickles — loners who are desperate for attention, and see violence as an easy way to get it.

Why, you may ask? Because it works.

Instead of talking about new gun laws or new safety precations in schools, let’s talk about one of the easiest things we can do to stop these shootings: Stop saying the name of the shooter.

It doesn’t require a law. It doesn’t require armed guards. It doesn’t require billions of dollars of investment.

All it requires is common sense.

Common sense, alas, seems to be the last thing that we can buy, even though it’s available free of charge from Dana Loesch.
