Grown Woman Threatens Violence Against 11-Year-Old over Trump Halloween Costume

Share

Halloween is supposed to be a fun night of dressing up, facing a few of our fears, and celebrating the fall season. But it seems that the left is hell-bent on taking all of the charm out of October 31.

According to WXMI News in Grand Rapids, Michigan, an 11-year-old boy says he was threatened with physical violence after he went trick-or-treating dressed up as the president of the United States.

“I wanted to be him for two years,” the boy named Benny Drake told the local station. Political costumes and masks are pretty common, after all. Who can forget the countless Sarah Palin costumes in 2008 or the classic Richard “I Am Not a Crook” Nixon impressions?

Drake said that he knew a few people would dislike his Donald Trump outfit, but he wasn’t expecting what happened next.

As the boy approached one house for candy, an adult woman allegedly became openly hostile and threatening.

“When we walked up to get candy, she threw the candy at me, and asked me if she could slap me,” Drake said. He also said that a man standing next to the woman saw what happened but just laughed.

“When I get sad, I just either, I straight up run, or I just stand still,” Drake said. He left, somewhat shaken.

WXMI reporters were able to locate the house identified by the boy and went to talk to her. “The woman who answered the door wouldn’t go on camera. She also wouldn’t confirm nor deny she was the one who allegedly made that statement,” the news station explained.

Do you think this woman went too far?

Meanwhile, liberals have been taking the fun out of Halloween in other ways. Busy-bodies have been dictating which costumes are approved as politically correct, while chastising people for “cultural appropriation” if they wear the wrong thing.

“Michigan State University posted a flow chart in dorms on campus to help students decide if their custom is racist,” we reported earlier this week.

Nothing says “festive” quite like a flow chart!

We’ve also reported on the costumes that most “trigger” the politically correct crowd, which include Border Patrol outfits and the somewhat strange “Adult Wall Costume.” Trump himself didn’t make that list.

Regardless of what somebody thinks about the president, taking political frustration out on an 11-year-old boy is just too far. There is a time and a place for political ranting, but Halloween night isn’t it.

Furthermore, threatening to slap a child you’ve never met — even if it was possibly meant as a bad joke — simply isn’t funny.

The person who allegedly did this may be hiding behind anonymity, but they know who they are. Hopefully, they’ll be able to think twice about how seriously they are taking partisan politics, because they’re clearly in too deep.
