WH Releases Letter: Over 60 Kavanaugh High School Friends Never Heard of Julie Swetnick
As part of the left’s interminable assault on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s career, life and reputation, a third accuser has been brought forward, presumably to add weight to the first two vague allegations and help establish a purported pattern of sexual misconduct.
This third accuser, Julie Swetnick, is represented by arguably one of the sleaziest lawyers to ever walk the face of the earth — and that’s really saying something — Michael Avenatti, who also represents porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Donald Trump.
Swetnick alleged, with virtually no corroborating evidence or witnesses, that Kavanaugh was part of a supposed “rape gang” that targeted female students at parties on a nearly weekly basis, and took turns having sex with them ostensibly after they were drugged or too drunk to say no or resist. It is worth noting that Swetnick never specifically claimed that Kavanaugh took part in the alleged gang rape, but merely asserted that he was present at a party where it occurred.
The Trump White House wasted no time in pushing back against this incredibly disgusting allegation, releasing a letter to the media that had been signed by no less than 60 individuals who were also students in the area around the time of the alleged incidents, all of whom vouched for Kavanaugh’s character in opposition to the baseless claims against him.

The letter, sent to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein, read, “We are men and women who knew Brett Kavanaugh well in high school.”
“We have seen reports today that Julie Swetnick, who says she graduated from Gaithersburg High School, submitted a declaration to the Committee alleging that Brett participated in horrific conduct during high school, including targeting girls for gang rape,” the letter continued.
“We never witnessed any behavior that even approaches what was described in this allegation. It is reprehensible,” the letter added.
“In the extensive amount of time we collectively spent with Brett, we do not recall having ever met someone named Julie Swetnick. Nor did we ever observe Brett engaging in any conduct resembling that described in Ms. Swetnick’s declaration,” the letter said.
“Brett Kavanaugh is a good man. He has always treated women with respect and decency,” the letter concluded. “He is a man of honor, integrity and compassion. These shameful attacks must end. This process is a disgrace and is harming good people.”
Considering that there are essentially no contemporaneous accounts of the alleged incidents put forward by any of the three accusers, nor a single contemporaneous witness who can personally corroborate the accuser’s accounts of what allegedly transpired, all of the accusations should be viewed with a measure of skepticism.
To be sure, all three deserve a chance to make their claims against Kavanaugh officially and under oath, but until such time as that occurs, their vague allegations really hold little, if any, weight whatsoever.
Furthermore, the fact that several dozen people, hundreds in all, who were well-acquainted with Kavanaugh at the time of these alleged incidents have all gone on record in this letter and others to dispute the veracity of such claims — saying the behavior doesn’t match up with the Kavanaugh they knew at the time — should count for far more than the handful of unverifiable allegations of despicable behavior.
None of the people who signed on to this letter vouching for Kavanaugh have any recollection of a fellow student named Julie Swetnick, nor do any of them recall ever hearing tales about a “rape gang” prowling parties and taking advantage of intoxicated young women … something that no doubt would have been freely flowing through the gossip channels, if true.
The gross smears leveled against Kavanaugh are nothing short of a disgusting hit job on his character and reputation, which up until a week ago was essentially spotless and squeaky clean. The people who are promoting these unfair smears of a reportedly stellar man ought to be ashamed of themselves for the pure evil they are inflicting on him and his family.
This insanity never should have started in the first place, but it darn sure needs to end now. If these women want to make official statements to the committee, and Democrats continue to insist on some sort of investigation, let that occur in due time, after Kavanaugh has been confirmed and taken his position on the bench.
If it turns out that he really did do what he is grossly alleged to have done, then Democrats will undoubtedly have plenty of embarrassed Republicans joining them in what would then be a righteous effort to impeach and remove Kavanaugh from the bench.
