Watch: Twitter CEO Admits Company's Bias on National TV
Well, it wasn’t exactly a secret, but Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey decided to make it official on national TV: Yes, he runs a liberal company.
In an appearance on CNN, Dorsey told Brian Stelter — a journalist who would do well to finally admit his own inveterate bias — that the social media giant tends to lean to the left.
The interview was set to air on Sunday, according to the Daily Wire, on Stelter’s uproariously named “Reliable Sources.”
In the interview, Dorsey insists that despite his company’s bias, it doesn’t discriminate against political perspectives.
“Are we doing something according to political ideology or viewpoints? We are not. Period,” Dorsey said in the interview.
“We do not look at content with regards to political viewpoint or ideology. We look at behavior.
“I think we need to constantly show that we are not adding our own bias, which I fully admit is left, is more left-leaning,” Dorsey added.
“We need to remove all bias from how we act and our policies and our enforcement and our tools,” he said.
This is all well and good, except for the fact that the social media giant has been shadow-banning conservative politicians who clearly aren’t exactly engaging in bad behavior.
"We do not look at content with regards to political viewpoint or ideology," @Jack told me. But he knows some people do not believe him. "I think we need to constantly show that we are not adding our own bias, which I fully admit is left, is more left-leaning," he says… pic.twitter.com/1i8jJunhfz

And then there are the conservative media figures that are either banished from the platform or otherwise punished.
Take the case of conservative commentator Candace Owens, who was recently locked out of her account.
What did she do to get in trouble? She took the racist messages of one Sarah Jeong — for which Jeong received absolutely no Twitter censure — and merely substituted different ethnicities for the “white people” Jeong disparaged. That got Owens banned.
But Sarah Jeong? Not so much. She’s not gotten so much as a warning, as far as we’ve heard.
This isn’t a surprise to anyone. After all, Twitter is the social media platform that introduced a Black Lives Matter emoji. However, the company’s claim to support free speech is a load of bunk. Between shadow-banning and the selectivity of its enforcement, its clear Twitter has an agenda and is willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce it.
Sorry, @jack — we know you’re liberal, and it’s nice to hear you admit it. But the rest of that story simply doesn’t fly.
