Watch: Former Kavanaugh Law Clerk Crushes Left's Narratives by Recalling Her Time Working for Him
Having failed to effectively block or derail Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court through normal means and legal issues, Democrats and their liberal media allies have resorted to besmirching his reputation through unsubstantiated allegations of sexual misconduct and blatant smears against his character.
The sexual assault smear initially was launched anonymously by Democrat California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, but Kavanaugh’s accuser has since come forward to allege — with virtually no specific details that can be countered or rebutted — that a then 17-year-old Kavanaugh had groped and attempted to disrobe her while drunk at a party with other high school students.
In response to the terrible allegation that liberals are using to paint Kavanaugh as some sort of sexual predator, dozens of women who’ve known or worked with the judge over the course of his lengthy career have come forward to dispute that characterization of the nominee.
One of those women is a former law clerk of Kavanaugh’s named Jennifer Mascott, who had nothing but positive things to say about her former boss in a testimonial shared on Facebook by The Daily Signal.
“I’m Jen Mascott. I clerked for Judge Brett Kavanaugh his first year on the bench from 2006 to 2007. So, I really had the honor to clerk for Judge Kavanaugh his first term,” Mascott said.
“He’s gone on to have more than 50 percent of his law clerks be women, and he keeps up with each of his law clerks and continues to mentor us professionally,” she continued. “And I could not be more enthusiastic about President Trump nominating him to a seat on the Supreme Court.
“Judge Kavanaugh is an independent, fair-minded judge. He has a very long record; he’s written as many as 300 opinions in his 12 years on the bench.
“He has top-notch credentials, having gone to Yale Law School, and he’s also just a very approachable, wonderful person.
“He coaches his two daughters’ basketball games. He keeps up with former clerks, and even now, 11 years after I finished clerking for him, he continues to remain a professional mentor, and I try to get his point of view any time I have a big professional decision to make.
“Judge Kavanaugh is meticulous and very careful in how he goes about his job. As a former clerk, we would assist him and he would go through 20, 40 or more drafts of opinions, first making sure that he had looked at all of the relevant law, keeping an open mind to how the issue should come down in that particular case. And then, working all the way to the end on details, like how an opinion is worded, making sure that it carefully and accurately describes the law and is readable by everybody ranging from other jurists to first-year law students to the public.
“He’s a person who really cares about his job and serving the country.”
This former law clerk has worked with Kavanaugh and known him for more than a decade. Quite contrary to how he is being portrayed in the media, Mascott recalled him being a very caring and careful person, one who was as meticulous about his job as he was about the success and well-being of the young law clerks — a majority of whom were female — who worked for him over the years.
The Brett Kavanaugh described by Mascott is not the same Brett Kavanaugh so viciously maligned and shredded by the liberal media, but of those two — a former law clerk who’s known him more than a decade, or liberal reporters — who do you think knows him best?
The real Kavanaugh is a man who takes his job immensely seriously and cares deeply for others with a sort of self-sacrifice that has become far too uncommon these days.
Hopefully the words of Mascott and the dozens of others who’ve stepped forward to speak on Kavanaugh’s behalf will outweigh the vague and impossible-to-prove-or-disprove allegations of decades-old wrongdoing lodged against him in what can only be described as a political hit job and character assassination attempt.
