Watch: Dem. Gov. Candidate Freaks Out on Cops, Booed by Disgusted Audience

Share

She puts the nut in the Nutmeg State.

A Democrat candidate for governor in Connecticut gave the audience an eyeful Monday night when she crashed a debate for invited candidates, then refused to leave the stage under a police escort.

And getting dragged off bodily was just the touch the whole act needed.

The festivities started when Lee Whitnum, a perennial candidate who appears to be the kind of whiner the Democrat Party attracts these days, appeared on the stage of a debate organized by the Brookfield Democratic Town Committee.

Whitnum had not been invited to attend the event, according to Fox 61, for reasons that soon became obvious.

When she took a seat at the table, the other candidates got up and left, leaving the show to Whitnum — and the police officers who soon showed up to give her the hook.

Let’s just say she didn’t go quietly.

Check out a video of the incident here.

As far as Democrat demonstrations go, it was relatively peaceful.

Whitnum didn’t burn down half the town, the way Black Lives Matter thugs did during in the dark days of the Freddie Gray riots in Baltimore. She didn’t physically assault a conservatives the way the antifa goons have been known to do on occasion.

But she did — unwittingly — sum up the popular image of the modern Democrat Party perfectly.

She was demanding, she acted entitled, and when push came to shove, she pretended she was carrying on the great traditions of civil disobedience. As comedy, it was unintentional, but as a political point, it was gold.

Social media users had a field day.

Democrats would love to write off Whitnum as an outlier who doesn’t reflect their party, but it’s not so easy.

She has a master’s degree from Harvard, and is even a reputed one-time lover of John Kerry, the former Democrat senator and 2004 presidential nominee who ended up succeeding Hillary Clinton as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state.

She roiled Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign by posting mementos of their relationship online, and got plenty of Democrat hate as a result, according to a Washington Post account from the time.

Do you think her actions are an accurate representation of the Democrat Party?
She even hates Israel, which should give her a leg up in any Democrat contest.

Considering the way she got booed by the disgusted audience on Monday, and the fact that she’s getting charged with trespassing and breaching the peace after that stunt at the debate, it’s a good chance Whitnum won’t be finishing the gubernatorial race in the Governor’s Residence in Hartford.

But she’s giving Americans a great example of the Democrat Party in action while the race lasts.
