Cameras Catch Bernie Sanders Making Must-See Face as Trump Hammers Socialism
President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address was an appeal for unity.
Urging lawmakers and his fellow Americans to “choose greatness,” Trump’s speech at points had members of both political parties standing and cheering.
But the atmosphere during his attack on socialism was a completely different story.
Trump offered a stunning and outright rebuke of socialism and its widespread failures before making a declaration that the United States would “never be a socialist country.”
Avowed “democratic” socialist Senator Bernie Sanders was among those who apparently didn’t care for the president’s remarks and attacks on his chosen political system.
A video of his reaction during the president’s remarks quickly made its way to Twitter.
President Donald Trump slams socialism: “America was founded on liberty and Independence and not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free and we will stay free.”
“America will never be a socialist country.”

With a reddening face and what could be teary eyes, Sanders looked outright pained at Trump’s statements.
Unfortunately for him, the State of the Union address served as a platform for the president to showcase his accomplishments — including a roaring economy simply not possible under a socialist system.
Any hope Sanders harbored of a socialist, red America may have just bit the dust during the president’s remarks.
Twitter reactions were even more merciless to the 77-year-old politician.
Bernie Sanders is sunburned and not happy about the attacks on socialism.

I love that when @realDonaldTrump was talking about the horrors of socialism
that the camera zoomed in on a very curmudgeonly Bernie Sanders. #SOTU #SOTU19

Facing a crowded field of potential opponents in 2020 (Bernie possibly among them), Trump set his tone for socialism in the State of the Union address — a non-negotiable rejection of the philosophy, complete and concrete.
From the roar of the chamber and their chants of “USA, USA, USA,” it seems that many Americans support the president’s position wholeheartedly.
