Video: Baltimore's Dem Mayor Complained About Rats, Housing Last Year, 'Just Take All This S*** Down'
Once again, President Donald Trump’s Twitter account has dominated the news cycle, and once again, the left is scrambling to label his comments as racist.
Trump, however, is not the only politician to make disparaging remarks about Baltimore, Maryland. Former Mayor Catherine Pugh, a black Democrat, made eerily similar comments less than a year ago.
Pugh spoke while touring an East Baltimore neighborhood as part of an initiative to end violence in the city.
“What the hell? We should just take all this s— down,” Pugh said as she grimaced at the sight of dilapidated buildings.
“Woah, you can smell the rats,” she said.

She wasn’t done, though. Later during the tour, Pugh caught an unpleasant odor and said, “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”
Pugh’s reaction to Baltimore resurfaced after Trump leveled an attack against Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland’s 7th Congressional District, which includes a significant portion of Baltimore.
….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place

Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!

Of course, the racism accusations came flying in. Unapologetic liar Al Sharpton jumped in, to no one’s surprise.
The Baltimore Sun reported Pugh’s story at the time and she received some criticism, albeit different criticism than Trump endured.
Pugh, as mayor of the city she was denigrating, naturally heard accusations of inaction. Some wondered why she seemed so surprised.
But the left didn’t call her racist.
As we all know, if Trump makes so much as a critical remark about anything related to a person of color, he must be racist — even if black Democrats make the exact same claims. That’s the whole point.
The left is consumed in its hatred for Trump, the Republican Party and conservatives in general — which means Trump’s attacks aren’t the issue, he is.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, unless that gander happens to be a politician with an “R” next to his or her name.
