If Trump's a Racist, Why Are There 400% More Black Small Businesses in 2018?
The most common attack used against President Donald Trump is that he’s a bigot of some sort — something that usually boils down to racism.
Why? Well, apparently thinking sports stars ought to respect our national anthem is suddenly now racist. So is thinking that students ought to make it into college based on merit. Oh, and he’s a Republican, so he’s also a racist.
Well, if Donald Trump is a racist and wants to hurt African-Americans and other minorities, let’s just say he’s failed miserably.
Consider the state of black small businesses, for instance.
Arguably the greatest mover in terms of the financial improvement of any social group is small businesses. So, how are black small businesses doing under the Trump administration?
According to a study by Guidant Financial, “year-over-year, we saw a 400% increase in the number of African American owned small businesses.”
“Guidant Financial teamed up with LendingClub to survey more than 2,600 current and aspiring small business owners nationwide in their State of Small Business survey,” the company said on its website.
“African American business owners are on the rise in the United States, and we’ve narrowed down our results to reveal the top trends among African Americans and how they differ from the nationwide average.”
Four of the top five states for new black-owned small businesses were also red states: Texas, Georgia, California, Florida and North Carolina.
Also, here’s another huge factor — most black small business owners don’t have a four-year college degree.
Thirty-two percent had a high school or GED education, 21 percent an associate’s degree, 26 percent a bachelor’s, 19 percent a master’s and 3 percent a doctorate.
Liberals may not like that, but the reality is that means they likely don’t have college debt to pay for — or at least not as much as many college graduates.
As for what motivated them, most of them didn’t do it because they were laid off or outsourced — only 12 percent of respondents listed that as a motivating factor.
Sixty-two percent said they wanted to pursue their passion, 53 percent said they were ready to be their own boss, 30 percent said an opportunity presented itself, and 22 percent said they were dissatisfied with corporate America.
Meanwhile, black unemployment is at an all-time low and the economy, in general, is doing great.
So, if Trump’s a racist, he must be really terrible at it.
