Trump's 'Layer' Typo in Tweet to Lisa Page Is So Hilarious It'll Have Readers in Tears
Although former FBI lawyer Lisa Page was subpoenaed to appear before a joint congressional committee hearing on Wednesday, she ignored the requirement to appear and was a no-show.
Page would most likely have been questioned about the role she played in various high-level investigations, such as the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the Trump/Russia collusion investigation.
At the heart of that questioning would most likely be a number of pointed questions about her voluminous amount of texts with FBI agent Peter Strzok, many of which revealed a deep animus toward then-candidate, now-President Donald Trump and a support for the candidacy of Clinton.
But on the advice of her own personal lawyer, and citing an inability to adequately review relevant documents prior to the hearing, Page ignored the subpoena and blew off the hearing, an unbelievable development that was noted on Twitter by Trump while in Europe for a NATO summit.
Ex-FBI LAYER Lisa Page today defied a House of Representatives issued Subpoena to testify before Congress! Wow, but is anybody really surprised! Together with her lover, FBI Agent Peter Strzok, she worked on the Rigged Witch Hunt, perhaps the most tainted and corrupt case EVER!

Trump tweeted, “Ex-FBI LAYER Lisa Page today defied a House of Representatives issued Subpoena to testify before Congress! Wow, but is anybody really surprised!”
“Together with her lover, FBI Agent Peter Strzok, she worked on the Rigged Witch Hunt, perhaps the most tainted and corrupt case EVER!” the president added.
A rather glaring typo in that tweet quickly garnered notice — “layer” instead of “lawyer” — which prompted cries of misogyny from the left and provoked guffaws from some on the right.
Popular cartoonist, author and Trump supporter Scott Adams was one who took note of the typo and used no less than 11 laughing emojis in a tweet to signify just how hilarious he found that “typo” to be.
Adams tweeted, “‘Layer’ (laughing emojis) Best Presidential typo ever. Unless it wasn’t a typo. In which case it is even better.”

The proposition of Trump tweeting “layer” instead of “lawyer” on purpose would appear to be a direct shot at the persistent rumors circulating that Page and Strzok were engaged in an illicit affair with each other while working together on the high-level investigations.
The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., saw the tweet from Adams and provided his own two cents on the matter, and seemed to be in agreement that the “typo” wasn’t really a mistake at all. Trump Jr. tweeted, “Based on what was going on there I’m reasonably sure that’s not a typo.”

Trump Jr. was quite likely referring to not only the rumors of a Page/Strzok love affair, but also the revelation in the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General’s report on the Clinton email investigation that other FBI agents who similarly despised Trump were also engaged in illicit affairs with their colleagues.
Indeed, hindsight and the IG report and other bits of information have created the perception that there was just as much illicit “laying” as biased “lawyering” going on at the FBI and DOJ during 2016, a circumstance that should call into question the judgment and conclusions reached by those involved.
