Trump Tweets Hilarious Edited Video of Himself Crashing Democratic Debates
If you watched the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate Wednesday night, you got to see some pretty amazing things.
One of the first notable moments was former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke beating New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker in the “I will show America I can speak Spanish” race.

Booker’s facial expression was muy bueno.
Moderator: “Mr. O’Rourke, what do you think about this specific tax plan?”
Beto: “Well you see I know Spanish.”
Moderator: “Yeah but the tax plan…”
Beto: “Hola como estas”#DemocraticDebate

But when the candidates were speaking English, the results weren’t much better.
It was a contest to see who could promise to give away more free stuff — college, health care, abortions for men, housing, living wages, reparations — while spending an inordinate amount of time vilifying rich people and profits.
But the thing most people will remember — and this says a lot about the Democrats’ 2020 chances — is the technical audio glitch where the control room was apparently unable or unwitting enough to turn off the mics of NBC moderators who were off stage.
The moment was so awkward that Chuck Todd stopped his questioning and asked the control room — on live TV — to fix the problem. When the issue persisted, a visibly upset Todd was forced to cut to an unplanned break.
But the best was yet to come.
Early Thursday morning, President Donald Trump tweeted a video of the audio snafu.
Only the video had a few … modifications.

In Trump’s edited version, as the audio mistake occurs, the lights begin to shut off on the debate stage.
And then music begins to play.
When the stage is completely dark, you hear someone ask, “What’s happening?”
Then the lights begin to grow brighter to reveal a fog over the stage.
Then comedic gold happens.
As the scene grows even brighter, the silhouette of Donald Trump can be seen walking onto the stage.
You can hear the audio of Todd asking for more assistance as the background music grows more intense.
Then it becomes clear that Trump is walking onto the stage in a parody of him crashing the Democratic debate.
At Thursday morning, the video already had more than 1.6 million views and 70,000 “likes.”
Leave it to Trump to steal the show when he wasn’t even on the stage.
