Trump Slams Rashida Tlaib's News Conference Tears: 'She Is an Anti-Semite'
It was two thumbs down from the country’s critic in chief.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s performance at the podium during her news conference Monday with Rep. Ilhan Omar had everything a television producer could be looking for: High drama; powerful women; and lots, and lots and lots of tears.
But there was at least one member of the audience who wasn’t applauding afterward.
In a Twitter post late Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump lashed out at Tlaib’s watery histrionics — and threw in a dig at the other members of “the squad”: Omar and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.
“Sorry, I don’t buy Rep. Tlaib’s tears,” Trump wrote.
“I have watched her violence, craziness and, most importantly, WORDS, for far too long. Now tears? She hates Israel and all Jewish people. She is an anti-Semite. She and her 3 friends are the new face of the Democrat Party. Live with it!”

That’s harsh, but it’s hard to pretend Tlaib didn’t have it coming.
To hear Democrats try to tell it, Tlaib is a contemporary Rosa Parks. One of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, Democrats are trying to convince the country that she’s on the side of all that’s good and true — and that any opposition to her must be based on racism, or that all-purpose Democratic boogeyman called “Islamophobia.”
But there’s a great deal to dislike about the Michigan congresswoman’s politics — starting with her vow to “impeach the motherf*****,” in reference to the president.
She’s also a die-hard opponent of Israel and supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, generally known as BDS, that aims to starve the Jewish state culturally and economically.
Tlaib not only all deserved the eminently justifiable Israeli decision to ban her and the equally radical Omar from entering the country, she actually turned down a chance to visit the Israelis were willing to grant on purely humanitarian grounds.
And then she decided to cry at a news conference that was being covered by national news networks?
It beggars belief.
Like all presidential tweets, the liberals flooded this one with responses, with all the usual accusations of racism, bullying and mental incapacity.
But there was plenty of skepticism about Tlaib’s tears too.
The leaders of the democratic party do not have the courage to condemn the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic views of Rashida Tlaib. This is absolutely appalling. Jewish voters are foolish if they vote democratic in 2020.

It’s not the first time Trump has called out a Democratic opponent over conveniently timed tears.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer got himself dubbed “Crying Chuck” by the president after a January 2017 news conference when he was apparently overcome by emotion after Trump’s first efforts to limit immigration from several Muslim-dominated countries with long histories of terrorism.
Tlaib’s performance Monday was arguably more believable than Schumer’s — which was simply awful.
But it was still tough to square with the viciousness of her feelings for Israel — viciousness that’s clearly stronger than her desire to see her family in the West Bank again.
Trump wasn’t the only viewer who wasn’t buying Tlaib’s act.
