Trump: US Will Never Surrender to UN's 'Unelected, Unaccountable Global Bureaucracy'
This. This is why America elected President Donald Trump.
When candidate Donald J. Trump threw down the gauntlet on his promise to make America great again, this is what Americans expected of him as president of the United States.
Nearly every president has his money quote — the words for which he is remembered throughout history. The speech the president gave to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday may be that speech, that quote. It reiterated the primary essence of American exceptionalism deep within each of us who believe in sovereignty and supported the president as a candidate when he promised to put America first.
“We will never surrender America’s sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable global bureaucracy. We reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism,” President Trump said.
While they didn’t use the word hostile, The New York Times certainly intimated the president spoke in front of a very unfriendly crowd.
“Mr. Trump’s 34-minute address drew a mostly stone-faced response from the audience in the General Assembly chamber, which included emissaries from several of the countries he targeted. But there was one moment of levity early on, albeit at the president’s expense.”
When the president declared his administration had “accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” the room “broke out into murmurs and laughter.”
President Trump didn’t mince words in how he viewed the policies of other nations, and the icy atmosphere didn’t warm up as President Trump stood firm in his admonition of Iran calling them a “corrupt dictatorship.”
“He accused the Iranian government of looting its own people and using the financial windfall from the nuclear deal to finance what he described as a terrorism campaign that is destabilizing the entire Middle East,” according to The New York Times.
“Iran’s leaders sow chaos, death and destruction. They do not respect their neighbor or borders, or the sovereign rights of nations,” President Trump said.
He also noted his accomplishments in de-escalating tensions in North Korea and praised Chairman Kim for his cooperation in those efforts, which is a complete sea change from events of a year ago.
Regardless of what other nations around the world think of the United States or President Trump, Americans who supported him for president love to see this tough, no-holds-barred, America first message going out to the world. We are tired of the apologist methods and behavior from past administrations.
Simply, Americans do not want to be a socialist, communist state. Freedom and sovereignty are in our DNA and we want leadership that reflects that. President Trump clearly represented American sentiment in his speech.
And social media couldn’t contain its jubilation at the president’s performance at the U.N.

It looks like the stone faces of the U.N. General Assembly members won’t be seeing this president back down from his promises to fight for American sovereignty at any time during his administration. Too bad for them, but that’s just fine with me.
It also looks like it’s going to be just fine with a huge portion of Americans as well.
