Trump Ignites McCabe With Brutal Message After Firing: "Great Day For Democracy"
Longtime fans of “The Apprentice” know that Donald Trump doesn’t just fire someone in an ordinary way.
No, if the firing is deserved, he does it with relish.
Trump has carried that over into the Washington swamp, in particular when it comes to people who needed to be shown the door.
He demonstrated that yet again when FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired, calling his ouster “a great day for Democracy” in a Friday tweet.
According to Fox News, McCabe was fired by the Justice Department just days before he was set to retire — and receive a fat lifetime pension from the FBI — after a report revealed he had mishandled the investigation into former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s personal email server..
“Pursuant to Department Order 1202, and based on the report of the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, and the recommendation of the Department’s senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately,” a statement from Attorney General Jeff Sessions read.
“After an extensive and fair investigation and according to Department of Justice procedure, the Department’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provided its report on allegations of misconduct by Andrew McCabe to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR),” the statement continued.
“The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe,” Sessions said. “Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions.”
“The FBI expects every employee to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and accountability. As the OPR proposal stated, ‘all FBI employees know that lacking candor under oath results in dismissal and that our integrity is our brand.'”
That was already pretty scathing — and prompted a response from McCabe, who claimed the administration was trying to undermine the FBI.
However, Trump decided that he would have the last laugh when it came to McCabe.
Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!

“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy,” Trump tweeted hours after the Friday firing.
“Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!”
So, McCabe may have lost out on his full pension, got a verbal spanking from Jeff Sessions for his abhorrent handling of the Hillary Clinton investigation and then got it rubbed in by President Trump.
A bad day for McCabe, sure, but a great day for restoring trust in the FBI.
