Sheriff Clarke: 'Trump is Right. McCain is a Rat B******'
The establishment media went after President Donald Trump for saying he wasn’t a fan of the late Sen. John McCain, but Sheriff David A. Clarke pointed out the real reason the left loved the Arizona senator.
“John McCain’s hands are dirty. He’s a snake,” Clarke tweeted. “Dems and lib media only like him because he was a RINO.”
“McCain is a RAT B——,” he added.
John McCain’s hands are dirty.
He’s a snake. Dems and lib media only like him because he was a RINO@realDonaldTrump is right. McCain is a RAT BASTARD.https://t.co/DVXdvzuuY8— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) March 20, 2019
Clarke’s tweet and the establishment media’s virulent defense of McCain came after Trump criticized the late senator earlier this week for sending the dubious Christopher Steele dossier to the FBI in 2016.
The bizarre dossier, which some outlets refused to even report, claimed that the Russian government had compromising information on Trump.
“So it was indeed (just proven in court papers) ‘last in his class’ (Annapolis) John McCain that sent the Fake Dossier to the FBI and Media hoping to have it printed BEFORE the Election,” Trump tweeted. “He & the Dems, working together, failed (as usual). Even the Fake News refused this garbage!”

The president also criticized McCain for refusing to cooperate with the Senate’s attempt to repeal Obamacare.
“He had far worse ‘stains’ than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!” Trump tweeted.
Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier “is unfortunately a very dark stain against John McCain.” Ken Starr, Former Independent Counsel. He had far worse “stains” than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!

And on Tuesday, Trump reiterated his criticism of McCain during a news meeting with Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro.
“I’m very unhappy that he didn’t repeal and replace Obamacare. … I was never a fan of John McCain and I never will be.”

And of course, RINOs such as former Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Mitt Romney came out of the woodwork to defend McCain’s anti-Trump record.
I was always a fan of @SenJohnMcCain and I always will be. Shame on you @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/lQC5MCgmH9

I can’t understand why the President would, once again, disparage a man as exemplary as my friend John McCain: heroic, courageous, patriotic, honorable, self-effacing, self-sacrificing, empathetic, and driven by duty to family, country, and God.

These so-called “Republicans” are walking in lockstep with the left-wing establishment media in their condemnation of the president.
RINOs like Romney are continuing the legacy of McCain by flirting with the establishment media and condemning Trump at every opportunity.
But it’s notable that the media didn’t always love McCain. He was painted as a despicable war hawk for years — particularly when he ran against then-presidential candidate Barack Obama — until he found his redemption by criticizing the president.
As Clarke pointed out, McCain is only getting so much love because he aligned himself with the anti-Trump crowd.
If McCain wasn’t a constant thorn in Trump’s side, leftists in the media would have only remembered him for his incessant warmongering.
The establishment’s current obsession with McCain shows that they are willing to oppose Trump at all costs, even if it means defending a late senator with a less-than-stellar track record.
