Rep. Scalise Is So Dangerous to Anti-Gunners that Dems Refused To Let Him Testify in Gun Control Hearing

Share

House Democrats are pledging to enact gun control legislation and they’ve refused to hear testimony from House Minority Whip and shooting survivor Steve Scalise.

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee — in which Democrats have a majority — held a hearing to address issues related to “gun violence,” according to The Associated Press.

“For far too long, Republicans in Congress have offered moments of silence instead of action in the wake of gun tragedies. That era is over,” House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi echoed the committee’s sentiments on Twitter.

“Under Republican control, the House didn’t hold a single hearing on gun violence prevention. That streak ends with today’s hearing in the @HouseJudiciary committee,” Pelosi tweeted.

Democrats are dead set on pushing their gun control agenda and they seem unwilling to hear other opinions.

Scalise, who survived an assassination attempt from a left-wing radical in 2017, told Fox News host Laura Ingraham that Democrats in the House Judiciary Committee wouldn’t let him speak during the gun control hearing.

Should people hear Scalise's story?

“I’ve dealt with something that happened to me, and I saw how guns were used to save people’s lives, and it should’ve been able to be a part of the testimony,” Scalise said.

“They wanted to focus on taking away the rights of law-abiding citizens, which their bill ultimately does.”

Obviously, Democrats would be terrified of Scalise’s testimony because he has an inspiring story and he’s solidly in favor of the second amendment.

Scalise narrowly survived a shooting from a left-wing activist while he was at practice for a congressional baseball team in June 2017, so he’s the perfect man to speak about “gun violence.”

But Democrats know that Scalise is solidly in favor of the Second Amendment, even after the horrific assassination attempt.

People might begin to question the left’s hardline, anti-gun stance if they heard about the brave representative’s story and subsequent arguments in favor of the Second Amendment.

Scalise is one of the left’s biggest fear: a brave, principled conservative.
