Remember ‘Safe, Legal and Rare’ Abortion? Now You Don’t Even Need To Be a Doctor To Perform One
The mantra from those on the anti-life left used to be that they wanted abortions to be “safe, legal and rare.” But times have changed.
Now the left cackles at a group whose sole purpose is to tell abortion jokes.
The left sell T-shirts that read across the chest “abortion tickles.”
Those on the left celebrate abortions with the same fanfare that a rational, empathetic human being would celebrate a birth.
After having had two abortions, uber-leftist comedian Chelsea Handler said, “I don’t ever look back and think, ‘God, I wish I’d had that baby.’”
The article was published with a picture mimicking a birth announcement. But rather than the usual imagery celebrating life, it depicted a woman’s hand with a raised middle finger and a pink bow around it. Attached to the bow is a small card that reads, “It’s an abortion!”
We’re beginning to see the true face of the abortion industry, and it’s grotesque.
Maine’s governor recently signed a bill into law that won’t change that perspective. Gov. Janet Mills penned her name on an atrocity that will allow nonphysicians such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants to perform abortions, according to the Portland Press Herald.
The bill, ostensibly to help women be healthier, expands the list of persons legally allowed to abort babies.
Although the left inaccurately claims that legalizing abortions helped save lives because of their coat hanger myth, they keep expanding it farther away from a professionally performed procedure that is “safe, legal and rare.”
Gov. Mills attempted to justify her position by saying, “Allowing qualified and licensed medical professionals to perform abortions will ensure that Maine women, especially those in rural areas, are able to access critical reproductive health care services when and where they need them from qualified providers they know and trust.”
But within the bill, there is absolutely no data, nor even a statement that such data exists, to support Gov. Mill’s assertion that women’s health is at risk under the current structure of Maine abortion laws.
It goes without saying that the abortion business has always had little to do with women’s health. Planned Parenthood makes substantial amount of money every year peddling that lie. But it’s a lie that even the left does not believe.
Reality is this: 99% of abortions are about convenience — a rationale that one would fundamentally make her life choices without penalty of consequences.
There is grace for those who have had abortions. There is redemption for all who regret their pasts. There should be charity and love for single women who are uncertain how to face a pregnancy they did not expect, but all of that does not override the basic truth that life is not ours to take.
Mercy toward one does not justify murder toward another. Don’t let anyone force you into that corner. Lives depend on it.
