More Proof Dems Are Incapable of Telling the Truth: Kamala Caught in a Bizarre Lie About Tupac & Pot

Share

Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris officially announced her 2020 presidential run and, like other Democratic politicians, is attempting to portray herself as cool, in-touch and relatable with young voters.

Some comments Harris made in regard to her past marijuana use, however, have come under scrutiny and indicate that the senator’s recollection was either highly inaccurate or that she deliberately lied in an effort to pander to young voters.

Either way, she succeeded in exposing her own hypocrisy.

Earlier this week, Harris sat down for an interview with the popular New York City morning radio show “The Breakfast Club,” where the co-hosts attempted to debunk much of the negative attention that has been circulating around the senator and former California attorney general.

The conversation turned to Harris’ support for the legalization of marijuana, and she admitted to having used it during her college years. Asked what music she listened to while getting high, Harris named a couple of famous rappers.

There was just one problem: Those those rappers didn’t debut until several years after Harris graduated from college.

Harris first said that of course she supported legalizing marijuana because “half my family is from Jamaica, are you kidding me?”

Do you think Harris has a chance in 2020?

Asked if she ever smoked, she replied, “I have, and I inhaled. I did inhale,” a not so subtle jab at former President Bill Clinton, who had danced around the subject in the 1990s by claiming to have smoked weed but not inhaled in the past.

She further admitted that “it was a long time ago” when she had smoked in college and joked, “I just broke news.” Asked if she would smoke weed if it were to be legalized nationally, Harris said with a laugh, “Listen, I know it gives a lot of people joy, and we need more joy in the world.”

A moment later — and not included in the brief clip above — Harris was asked what music she listened to when she got high. “Definitely Snoop, uh-huh. Tupac, for sure,” she replied.

Except, as reported by the Washington Examiner, Harris either misremembered what she had been listening to or purposefully lied about it, as a simple chronology of events shows.

Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986, but Tupac’s debut album wasn’t released until 1991. Snoop Dogg didn’t release his own debut album until 1993, seven years after the senator’s college days were over.

Indeed, if Harris is accurate in recalling that she listened to Tupac or Snoop while getting high, that would mean she was illegally smoking weed while serving as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County.

Furthermore, Harris’ claim that she has long supported the legalization of marijuana has also come under scrutiny and is unsupported by the evidence of her actions in not only the district attorney’s office but also in her role as attorney general.

Harris opposed a popular proposition in 2010 that would have legalized recreational marijuana usage, and as attorney general worked with then-President Barack Obama’s federal agencies to crack down on legal dispensaries for medicinal marijuana use, while also declining to join in an effort by other states to reschedule the drug at the federal level to decriminalize it.

You can watch the entire interview below. (The discussion about marijuana begins around the 34-minute mark.)
