Disturbing Pro-Abortion Billboards Have Started Appearing
Elective abortion is not health care, but you wouldn’t know that from narratives promoted by Planned Parenthood.
Their latest effort takes what pro-life Americans would say is a disturbing turn.
The group has recently put up pro-abortion billboards in Iowa with the message: “I had an abortion and I am not apologizing.”
Abortion is safe, common health care – and in 2019, we are over the stigma. That’s why today we launched #SayAbortion, a billboard campaign across Iowa amplifying the voices of real people who have had abortions.

There is no indication of who has insisted anyone who has had an abortion apologize for it. The underlying theme seems to be in the same vein as others recently pushed of essentially taking pride in having an abortion.

The Shout Your Abortion campaign, co-founded by activist Amelia Bonow, aimed “to challenge abortion’s negative stigma,” reported Life Site News. The new Planned Parenthood billboards aim to do the same.
A news release from Planned Parenthood elaborates on the group’s latest effort to garner more support.
The release reads in part, “Planned Parenthood is launching the #SayAbortion campaign to capture and reflect the energy of Iowans speaking out against the state’s dangerous, unconstitutional 6-week abortion ban that is currently blocked by a court injunction. #SayAbortion is rooted in the fundamental facts that access to safe, legal abortion care is central to reproductive health, and that bodily autonomy is critical to achieving full equality.”
The elective killing of an unborn baby is not “reproductive health.” It is the ending of a separate life for the personal reasons of the mother carrying it inside her.
A court injunction does not ultimately mean the six-week abortion ban is “unconstitutional,” as claimed in the press release. Restrictions on how far along a pregnant woman can be before she can no longer have an elective abortion exist nationwide.
The ban that Planned Parenthood is referring to is the Heartbeat Protection Act, which was signed into law last year. It prohibits physicians from performing most abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. That typically occurs around six weeks of gestation, according to the Des Moines Register.

Just prior to signing the bill into law in May, Gov. Kim Reynolds, a Republican, shared her reason for doing so, according to the Register.
“I believe that all innocent life is precious and sacred,” she said.
“And as governor, I have pledged to do everything in my power to protect it. And that’s what I’m doing today.”
By contrast, a statement released Friday by Dr. Jill Meadows, medical director for PPHeartland about the abortion provider’s latest campaign, has a very different viewpoint of life in the womb.
It reads, in part, “Planned Parenthood envisions a culture where abortion access is understood as a basic human right, an essential part of health care and a normal part of life.”
“At Planned Parenthood, we’re here to provide nonjudgmental support and factual, medically accurate information so that every patient can make their own personal decision about a pregnancy based on their own values, desires and needs.”
It later continues, “With the #SayAbortion campaign, we are putting a stop to the extreme anti-choice interest groups speaking over our patients. We are amplifying the voices of real people who have had abortions, we are talking about abortion care out loud, and we are shifting the narrative so all people can talk openly about abortion with sensitivity to the complexity of real-life individual experiences.”
Interestingly, while pro-abortion groups operate under the narrative of being “pro-choice,” liberal activists have a long and dishonorable history of villainizing pro-lifers in the political forum.
The so-called Women’s March protesting President Donald Trump in January, 2017, for instance, made a deliberate choice to exclude pro-life women, as a commentary piece in U.S. News and World Report pointed out at the time. To liberals, clearly only pro-abortion women count as women.
