Police Release Hilarious PSA After Idiot Accidentally Asks Officer for Marijuana

Share

The police department in Gainesville, Florida, had a little fun at the expense of someone who texted the wrong number looking for marijuana. It all started when an unidentified person accidentally texted a detective looking for some “bud.”

“Hey do you have bud I might need some,” the text read.

The detective sent a photo of his badge along with the message: “I think you have the wrong number. Drugs are no good for you.”

The person replied, “oh my god. I’m so sorry.”

The department then shared an image of the texts to issue a public service announcement about drugs, saying: “Please double check the number before you text. Also, drugs are bad, mmmkay?”

Take a look:

Talk about funny.

WAGA reported that it was not known whether the person had been identified, but you can bet that whoever texted the detective is not only embarrassed but probably now paranoid as well. Hopefully, he’ll take the officer’s advice and lay off the “bud.”

Do you think this cop's response to the drug seeker was appropriate?

This isn’t the first time police have had a little fun via Facebook.

A while back, the Granite Shoals Police Department in Texas posted a “Breaking News Alert” on its Facebook page warning the community about a meth and heroin supply that was “possibly contaminated with Ebola.”

The post warned people not to use any drugs until they had been “properly checked” for possible Ebola contamination. The department encouraged anyone in possession of illegal drugs to take them to their local police or sheriff’s department “so it can be screened with a special device.”

This in itself is hilarious, but what is even more unbelievable is that someone actually followed the department’s advice and took their meth to the police department to be examined.

Law enforcement officers have some of the toughest jobs in the country, and it is good to see them have a little fun every now and then.
