Photoshopped Pic of Kanye and Obama is Best Thing You'll See All Week
Following the recent historic summit between the leaders of the two Koreas — which South Korean President Moon Jae-in credited to President Donald Trump — talk began to surface of Trump receiving a Nobel Peace Prize for potentially bringing peace, stability and possible reunification to the Korean peninsula.
Supporters of Trump being considered for the prize point out that the Nobel Prize committee gave the prestigious award to former President Barack Obama simply for being elected.
Now factor in the recent “awakening” of rapper Kanye West — who appears to have rejected the lockstep closed-mindedness of liberals and progressives and embraced independent thought, to include an expression of admiration and support for Trump.
All of that and more came together in the form of a hilarious meme that was shared Monday on Twitter by conservative author and radio host Larry Elder with the tag line “Excuse the interruption …”

The photo-shopped picture shows West superimposed next to Obama while the former president was delivering a speech to the United Nations General Assembly.
West, holding the Nobel Peace Prize medal, is pictured as saying, “Imma let you finish, but Donald Trump had one of the best Nobel Prize worthy performances of all time!”
That meme was obviously a riff on a past action of West’s that arguably was one of his most notorious — other than his post-Hurricane Katrina declaration that former President George W. Bush hated black people — the interruption of singer Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards show.
As Swift began to deliver a short acceptance speech for receiving the best video award, West walked on stage and grabbed the microphone away from her to bluntly speak his mind for a brief moment.
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you and imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!” declared West as he pointed to the shocked hip-hop singer sitting in the audience.
West then shrugged, handed the microphone back to Swift and walked off stage. That moment has lived in infamy ever since and is now the subject of social media memes.
The meme shared by Elder is hilarious, but it also raises a rather valid point.
Nobody could ever really figure out why Obama was awarded the Nobel Prize, as he had just been elected and hadn’t done anything worthy of the honor at the time.
Furthermore, his post-prize actions during the rest of his presidency would seem to undercut the whole “peace” aspect of the award, as Obama’s policies resulted in invasions, uprisings and war in various points all around the globe, with a vast number of innocent lives lost in the process.
Meanwhile, though Trump has only been in office for little more than a year, he has all but defeated the brutal and murderous Middle East caliphate of the Islamic State group terrorist organization and appears poised to usher in peace on the Korean peninsula, which has officially been in a state of war since the 1950s, paused all of these decades by a tenuous armistice agreement that could be broken at a moments notice.
Whether or not Trump’s actions as president truly deserve a Nobel Peace Prize isn’t really the point, but it’s worth noting that many feel his accomplishments to date are more worthy of the honor than anything Obama did during the eight years of his presidency.
