Parkland Student Takes Call From White House, Jaw Drops at What Comes Next
[jwplayer iDUb9XB3]
David Hogg has become the media darling of the Parkland shooting. And, while we don’t take any pleasure in bashing survivors of mass shootings, Hogg has since transformed himself into a political figure in his own right — one more than willing to bash anyone who disagrees with his view of the world and of gun control.
However, let it not be said that the White House didn’t reach out to the new darling of the gun-grabbers. In fact, they did, and he hung up on them. One survivor didn’t, however, and how he acts speaks volumes about how we can come together after tragedies like this.
The White House actually called him to see if he wanted to be part of a listening session with President Trump. According to the U.K. Independent, he hung up.
“We don’t need to listen to President Trump. President Trump needs to listen to the screams of the children and to this nation,” Hogg said.
Yes, like so many of his liberal brethren, a “conversation” doesn’t actually go two ways. It involves liberals talking — or screaming, as Hogg described it — and everyone else listening to them and agreeing they were wrong all along.
As it turns out, Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv didn’t hang up when he got the call from the White House. He went to Washington to talk to the president and meet with leaders, including Ted Cruz, Orrin Hatch, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Louie Gohmert and Kellyanne Conway.
When given the ultimate honor to meet @POTUS or @FLOTUS: TAKE THE MEETING.

Heartened to see children affected by tragedy using their voices to try and create change. Wonderful to meet and speak with Stoneman Douglas High School student @KyleKashuv today at the @WhiteHouse. His message of unity inspires us all! #MSDStrong pic.twitter.com/N5ZqdGruwT

So, how did the left respond? Do you really even need to ask? Twitchy supplied one of the better snippets of idiocy.
Ahhh, I see that the conservative student from Douglas gets to meet with you guys, but not so much any of the other students who are actually asking for change to our gun laws. Why am I not surprised? #NRABloodMoney #NeverAgain

Kashuv, needless to say, went off.
Is this a joke? You realize that my classmates bragged about hanging up on @POTUS's office on NATIONAL TELEVISION to @billmaher!?!?!? Should I be asking why I am not on @TheEllenShow? https://t.co/oVIYx91dVw https://t.co/k4kgo5sOI4

There is a full article knocking our great @FLOTUS for meeting with me. I requested a meeting and FLOTUS so graciously agreed. FLOTUS asked if I would be okay with the FL posting a picture and I said "I would be nothing short of honored" and I stand by it https://t.co/JU0gOUKO3R

Kashuv, of course, is discovering a lesson that will serve him well in the immediate future: if facts actually got in the way of an argument, leftism wouldn’t actually have many of them.
So, hang up on the president all you want, folks. Refuse meetings with politicians unless they agree to uncritically support your position on an issue. There’s literally no way this could backfire, right?
Welcome to modern liberalism, folks.
