Off the Record Dems Say 'The President Won This One' Against Anti-Semitic Omar: Report
The Democrats have a huge problem on their hands heading into 2020.
And I’m not talking about Trump’s booming economy, record unemployment, constitutional judge confirmations or the unprecedented deregulation during his administration.
No, this is a problem within their own ranks, and it’s a doozy.
The numbers are in and the very people the mainstream media and the leftist talking heads are holding up as the heroes of the Democratic party may also be the greatest danger of their defeat.
Polling numbers show that Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar are skyrocketing in “unfavorable” rankings to the degree that top democrats are strategizing about how to distance themselves from the socialist messages of the freshmen congresswomen.
And the recent kerfuffle between Donald Trump and “the squad” isn’t going to help either.
Although mainstream media headlines across the nation condemned Trump’s recent tweets calling for the congresswomen to “go back where they came from,” the controversy didn’t have the impact Trump-haters hoped for.
If fact, members of the U.S. House of Representatives believe Trump is the political victor in that conflict.
CNN host Jake Tapper said he spoke with several House Democrats who believe that the battle was to Trump’s advantage.
“House Democrats appeared unified in their votes this week but I’ve spent the day talking to a bunch of them and many are extremely frustrated,” Tapper reported.
“All agree POTUS’s tweets needed to be condemned; they spoke under condition of anonymity so they could be candid.”
But the simple fact remains that the Democrats Tapper spoke to ruled in favor of Trump.
“‘The president won this one,’ said House Dem 1 of the Trump v Squad (AOC, Tlaib, Omar & Pressley) showdown,” Tapper tweeted.
2/ “The president won this one,” said House Dem 1 of the Trump v Squad (AOC, Tlaib, Omar & Pressley) showdown. “What the president has done is politically brilliant. Pelosi was trying to marginalize these folks and the president has now identified the entire party with them.”

“Other House Democrats are conflicted about having to defend the Squad given things they’ve said and done,” Tapper reported.
The Democrats told Tapper they were frustrated with the group’s “talk of supporting challengers to incumbent Dems in primaries, AOC’s use of the term ‘concentration camps,’ anti-Semitic comments by Tlaib & Omar.”

The Democrats with whom Tapper spoke seethed over the in-fighting and inconsistency that “the squad” has brought upon the party.
When the Democrats were “trying to support funds for children at the border,” the congresswomen argued that “we’re pro-putting kids in cages, we’re against human rights. So there’s frustration,” one Democrat told Tapper.
The perception among many Democrats is that “the squad” is turning on the party even though the party is forced to defend them for their mistakes.
“I can’t tell you the number of Members who are angry and annoyed about them criticizing us,” another Democrat told Tapper.
11/ Others noted that this week the House Democratic Caucus stood by a group that is not perceived as standing by them.
“I can’t tell you the number of Members who are angry and annoyed about them criticizing us,” said House Dem 3.

A frustrated Democrat named AOC specifically, claiming she “gives her chief of staff license to get candidates to run against her colleagues and to go after them on social media. It makes people’s skin crawl.”
And it was Trump’s tweets that brought much of this to the surface.
“What the president has done is politically brilliant,” a House Democrat admitted. “Pelosi was trying to marginalize these folks and the president has now identified the entire party with them.”
Whether you agree with the exact words of Trump’s tweets or not, the tactic of pitting the Democrats against each other is perfect. The wedge must be driven in deeper and more often.
The Democrats must be forced to deal with the fresh faces. They will either deny their socialism and anti-American agenda or they will pay the price at the 2020 polls.
