NYT Reporter Reveals Sickening Sex Harassment... From Hillary's Campaign
Move over, “#MeToo.” It might be time for a new passive-aggressive social justice hashtag: “#HillaryToo.”
A female New York Times reporter is accusing one of the campaign teams in the 2016 election of repeated sexism and degrading comments toward women. No, not that campaign team: Actually, the claim is against Hillary Clinton.
“In an upcoming book, New York Times reporter Amy Chozick relays multiple examples of sexism she faced while covering the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign,” explained The Washington Free Beacon.
Although the book, titled “Chasing Hillary,” hasn’t been released yet, The Washington Post published excerpts from its pages.
“While Chozick refers to Clinton’s female staffers by name in the book, she refers to Clinton’s male press staffers anonymously as ‘The Guys,’ giving them nicknames like Brown Loafers Guy, Policy Guy, and Original Guy, the worst of the bunch,” relayed the Beacon.
According to the book’s preview obtained by The Post, the female reporter Chozick was repeatedly dismissed by Clinton’s team because of her gender.
“They ask if there are any other Times reporters, preferably male, that they could talk to instead of her,” explained The Post’s review.
Other issues allegedly involved crude sexual remarks made by Clinton’s male staff members.
“The undercurrent of sexism spills over when Chozick and Original Guy spar over whether a prior conversation can go on the record, and he randomly paraphrases a crude line from ‘Thank You for Smoking,’ a 2005 film in which a reporter sleeps with a lobbyist for information. ‘I didn’t know I had to say it was off the record when I was inside you,” relayed The Post.
Then there’s a Clinton adviser believed by The Washington Post to be Burns Strider, who according to Amy Chozick, “exhibited generally creepy behavior” while she “tried to ignore his rubbing up and down my back.”
Strider had a history of sexual harassment claims against him, yet Clinton reportedly refused to fire him despite warnings, according to a New York Times story that Chozick helped break. Maybe Hillary was just used to it after 43 years married to Bill.
It isn’t the first time that supposedly oh-so-progressive Democrats have been accused of fostering a “bro culture.” Last year, we reported that crass behavior by an inner circle of “frat-boys” was all too common in the Obama White House.
“David Litt, an aide in the White House for nearly all of Obama’s presidency, reveals how he was part of an all-male, all-white and all under-40 team which produced speech after speech for the president,” The Daily Mail revealed at the time.
“It was for staffers within Obama’s inner circle to use women as trophies, and sexual conquests were allegedly viewed as a badge of honor,” Conservative Tribune reported based on the Mail story. “It was ‘painfully easy’ for aides to use their White House credentials to target and seduce women, according to Litt.”
Once again, it appears that the left’s feminism was primarily for show, and the Democrat derision of sexism only applied to other people.
It’s particularly ironic that Hillary Clinton has blamed her election loss on anti-woman sexism, but there may be a better explanation: Voters realized that she was fake, just like the faux feminist values that were apparently missing among her own staff.
