Tragic: NH House Stops Bill to Protect Women From Forced Abortions

Share

It’s the hypocrisy that’s sickening.

Abortion rights groups and their mouthpieces in the liberal media have been arguing for decades that ending an unborn child’s life in the womb is a matter of “choice” for the woman.

But when a state lawmaker in New Hampshire introduced a bill aimed at making sure that no woman was being forced to make the “choice” to have an abortion, the result was telling.

In the same week pro-life groups were encouraged by the passage of a Mississippi law banning abortions after 15 weeks of pregancy, the New Hampshire House of Representatives voted on Wednesday 237-100 to kill a bill that would have required screening for women planning abortions to make sure there was no abuse or coercion involved in the decision, according to The Associated Press.

Why? Apparently, it would place an “undue burden” on women, as one opponent put it.

Actually, it could place an “undue burden” on the people surrounding the woman who have their own selfish, possibly criminal, motives for demanding the termination of an inconvenient life — whether they’re sex traffickers, abusive spouses or partners, or even the family of the woman or girl in question.

And that tragic situation is much more common than abortion activists will ever admit.

According to Colin Lecroy, associate general counsel of the pro-life Human Coalition, abortion activists try to paint the problem as a “myth,” but that’s far from true.

“The use of force and domestic violence to compel abortion is a widespread problem, especially in the domestic sex-trafficking industry and sometimes within families,” he wrote in an August piece for National Review.

Do you think women planning abortions should be screened to make sure they're not being forced?

“Almost 36 percent of the clients we saw last year in one Human Coalition women’s care clinic reported that someone — typically a partner or a parent — was pressuring them to abort. That’s more than one in three. Those numbers are hardly negligible or ‘mythical,’ as the abortion lobby claims.”

And it’s already been proven on video.

In 2011, the pro-life group Live Action released video of a sting operation in which a man posing sought advice from a Planned Parenthood clinic in New Jersey about obtaining abortions for 14- and 15-year-old prostitutes, according to The Washington Times.

The girls spoke no English, the “pimp” told the clinic manager, which would be a clear sign to anyone who cared the pregnancies under discussion stemmed from a sex trafficking ring. No one cared.

“So long as they just lie … we just kind of play it stupid,” the clinic manager said.

A bill like the one in New Hampshire would make it a lot more difficult for abortion providers to “play it stupid,” when a woman or girl is being pressured into an abortion. Granite State Republicans maintained control of the state House and Senate in the the 2016 elections, according to the Concord Monitor, but this vote sounded a lot more like Democrats are in charge.

The same liberal groups and mainstream media that want government regulation over every aspect of American life don’t want any kind of regulation on abortion that might present an “undue burden” to ending the life of an unborn child. It’s a practice even abortion providers know is barbaric, but liberals don’t want the government oversight?

As always when it comes to liberals, the hypocrisy is sickening.
