New Pro-Trump Facebook Alternative Working To Change Face of Social Media

Share

Republicans and supporters of President Donald Trump are well-aware of Big Tech’s disdain for anyone who doesn’t toe the liberal party line.

Now, a new, Trump-friendly social media platform has been created in reaction to the censorship of conservatives on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

There are, of course, no shortage of examples of Trump supporters being unfairly targeted and deplatformed on social media.

As recently as December, the Rev. Franklin Graham was temporarily banned on Facebook because of a post made two years ago.

In September, Twitter briefly banned actor James Woods before his account was eventually restored.

Additionally, Trump supporters are often mistaken for “Russian bots,” as The Associated Press reported, as a result of the left’s “Russian collusion” hysteria.

The massive censorship from major social media companies is why a new, pro-Trump Facebook alternative has been created by Addison Riddleberger, a former Conservative Tribune writer.

The platform, TrumpTown, was showcased on “Fox & Trends” in November.

“A lot of conservatives feel they are censored on Facebook,” Fox News reporter Carley Shimkus said.

“Now, there is an alternative called TrumpTown.”

On the website’s GoFundMe page, Riddleberger explained why he decided to create TrumpTown.

“TrumpTown was launched after Facebook purged Founder Addison Riddleberger and his 2.5 million conservative, Pro-Trump Facebook followers,” the GoFundMe campaign reads.

“It gets worse — it happened 24 hours before the 2018 mid-term elections and to this day, Facebook has provided zero explanation as to why they banned him and his pages.”

That kind of censorship is why conservatives are starting to seek out and fund alternatives like TrumpTown.

It’s absolutely necessary for conservatives to have a voice on the internet or else politics will be dominated by the left — and that seems to be the major social media giants’ goal.

Do you think Facebook targets conservatives?

Even if conservative alternatives don’t eclipse technology titans like Facebook and Twitter, they will have a positive impact.

Competition from other platforms might force Facebook and Twitter to abandon their left-wing practices.

But for now, it’s clear that conservatives aren’t welcome on social media.

There must be a change in social media and it will start with conservatives flocking to alternatives.
