MSNBC Hits New Low, Pushes Idea Trump Has STD

Share

It’s no secret that MSNBC has a strong liberal slant, but the network may have just devolved into complete parody.

During a “Morning Joe” segment that can only be described as an anti-Trump hate fest, hosts Mika Brzezinski and Elise Jordan set a new low for crass unprofessionalism when they implied on live television that the president of the United States might have a sexually transmitted disease.

The exchange started when MSNBC gleefully repeated insults against Trump that have allegedly been uttered by administration officials like John Kelly.

Clearly enjoying smearing the president, “Morning Joe” hosts reported the quotes even though most were unproven and came from questionable sources like BuzzFeed and the admittedly-embellished “Fire and Fury” book.

The discussion was about whether White House staff members who clash with the president would have a tough time continuing their careers afterward. That question was fair enough, but then Jordan purposely steered the debate into the gutter.

“You leave with the political equivalent of an STD — to talk about something that Donald Trump worries about constantly,” Jordan quipped.

Yes, a major news network just declared that the commander in chief has a sexually transmitted disease in order to make an analogy.

“It’s something that you just don’t get rid of very easily,” Jordan went on, hammering home her sick example.

There was a bit of chatter, and then Brzezinski decided to get in on the sleaze.

Do you think these comments crossed the line of professionalism?

“Wait a minute,” she interjected. “Maybe that’s (an STD) why they raided his doctor’s office.”

If it was meant as a joke, it sure didn’t land well. The entire panel fell into an awkward silence, and even Brzezinski’s co-host and fiance Joe Scarborough seemed embarrassed for her.

The comment was a reference to Trump’s former personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, whose office was recently “raided” by White House representatives in order to retrieve some of the president’s personal medical records.

Details on that incident are sparse, but it appears the so-called raid was likely legal if the president authorized it.

It isn’t the first time that Brzezinski has turned MSNBC into an anti-Trump mud slinging contest.

Mark Milley Fears He Will Face a Court-Martial When Trump Enters White House

“MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski suggested that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un shared a certain psychological instability with President Donald Trump,” Independent Journal Review reported back in September.

Questioning the president’s mental and physical health has become a theme.  In June, Brzezinski and Scarborough said Trump was “not well,” IJR explained.

It’s worth noting that the left never seemed interested in making STD or personal health comments about Democrat presidents, even when the opportunities were rampant.

Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy, for example, were notorious womanizers — some might say sexual assaulters — whose romps became distractions within the White House.

Instead of making crass jokes, however, liberals defended those presidents relentlessly. And don’t forget the admonishment from the left that questions about Hillary Clinton’s health were off-limits and improper to question or mock during the 2016 campaign.

The double standards are everywhere.

There’s nothing wrong with criticizing the president. There is something wrong, however, with doing it with the sort of obvious enjoyment that bullies know so well. Reveling in filth may be nice for pigs, but we used to have a slightly higher standard for journalists.
