Mom Embraces #WalkAway as Libs Attack Her Thanking Eric Trump for Cancer Donation
A mother who was attacked for thanking Eric Trump for his donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which treats childhood cancer and other serious diseases, has joined the #WalkAway movement of former liberals explaining why she left the Democrats.
Sherrie Hopper, host of the 19 Strong Show on KWAM-AM in Memphis, Tennessee, became the target of online attacks after a late-June tweet thanking the president’s son for his work with the hospital.
“Thank you for your commitment to St. Jude,” Hopper tweeted to Trump. “This St. Jude family is eternally grateful.”

It wasn’t long, she says, before she was attacked with waves of hate when Trump responded.
In her video, Hopper explained that her nephew Zachary had been treated by the hospital, which is in Memphis, for cancer.
“So I vow to say thank you to anybody who helps make that hospital run,” Hopper said.
Instead, “the hate that has come out is unreal. Unreal.”
That included claims she didn’t really have a nephew who was treated at the hospital, and — but, of course — claims that she was a Russian bot. You know, a Russian bot with a radio show.
I have news for you all. I am not a Russian bot. I just happen to be grateful to people that help my family and that includes @EricTrump Get a grip sometimes people have a different way to see the world.

Those Russian bots, they are talented nowadays. Maybe they can even get one to replace Joy Reid on MSNBC. Or maybe Joy Reid is a Russian bot! I think we may have stumbled upon something here.
Anyway, Hopper struck back by becoming the latest person to join the viral #WalkAway campaign.
(By early Monday morning, this video had been removed for “violating YouTube’s policy on nudity or sexual content,” according to the explanation provided by YouTube. There was, however, no nudity or sexual content in the video when we watched it before it was taken down. — Ed. note)
“This whole thing that is going on with this … the (vitriol), the angry … the nastiness, just the hate that is surrounding the president and his family and just anybody who is affiliated with him at all is just … it’s just awful,” Hopper said.
“Now you’re gonna attack a charity? You’re gonna attack a St. Jude family, someone who went through hell for four years?” Hopper said.
“Come on now. So I’m seeing where they just have no boundaries. They don’t care. They have no conscience (whatsoever).”
“I don’t understand how we have become so hateful in our society. I don’t get it and all I did was say thank you,” she added while noting that the support “greatly outnumbered the nastiness.”
“That was me. The #WalkAway folks have been amazing and now their support has greatly outnumbered the nastiness,” she later tweeted. “They even tracked down his fundraiser for St. Jude and donated. I am in awe.”

Wow. It almost seems that conservatives are more charitable than liberals. What a concept.
