Melania Responds, Humiliates NYT Over Strange Story About Her TV Watching
Melania Trump’s spokeswoman has blasted The New York Times for their story on President Donald Trump and Melania Trump arguing about what to watch on television on Air Force One.
The Times reported that Trump was not pleased when he found that “Melania Trump’s television aboard Air Force One was tuned to CNN,” the network with which Trump has labeled “fake news.”
After the discovery was made, Trump reportedly “caused ‘a bit of a stir,'” according to an email exchange The Times had obtained.
“At the end of the email chain, officials confirmed that tuning the TVs to Fox would be standard operating procedure going forward,” The Times reporters wrote.
Although the first lady did not confirm or deny such a report, her spokeswoman pointed out that it seemed pretty strange that the media was more concerned with a couple’s squabble than anything else that is happening in the world.
“Did you know that every 15 minutes a baby is born with (neonatal abstinence syndrome)?” Stephanie Grisham asked, The Blaze reported. “Maybe you’d like to talk about the 160,000 kids who skip school every day for fear of being bullied, or that 280,000 students are physically attacked in schools every month.”
She added, “Seems kind of silly to worry about what channel she watched on TV (any channel she wants btw) or if she heard some recording on the news.”
This is not the first time Melania Trump has faced criticism from the establishment media.
In June, MSNBC Nicholle Wallace asked whether the first lady and first daughter Ivanka Trump are “dead inside” based on their ability to function in such close proximity to President Donald Trump.
“What do they do on a day like today?” the MSNBC personality asked. “Are they just the most stoic human beings, are they numb, are they dead inside, are they paid off?”
After Melania Trump spent some time away from the public eye after undergoing kidney surgery in May, the media traded theories on where the first lady could possibly be.
“I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I’m doing,” Melania tweeted. “Rest assured, I’m here at the @White House w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”
Grisham also had to defend the first lady in June following comments from Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, about the president’s alleged affair with Stormy Daniels. According to The Blaze, Giuliani had said, “She believes her husband and she doesn’t think it’s true.”
“I don’t believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani,” Grisham countered.
